It’s a very expensive hobby, but much cheaper than buying stained glass! I got into it decades ago because I love stained glass and couldn’t afford to buy windows and lamps. I’ve enjoyed making them for my home and other people. It’s a super rewarding hobby.
Hello! I’ve uploaded my picture to Procreate and I’ve reduced the opacity. However, when I go to draw over the pattern the “ink” is not black, it’s the same color as the picture. Any suggestions? I’m new with Procreate! Thanks!
Thanks so much for this.i know I’ve said this before but I use procreate and my cricut all the time for different things- I am dumbfounded that I never thought to put them together for stained glass.😂
Thank you for the video, it was very well explained. I've noticed there are two kinds of cricut mats you can get--sticky and not-as-sticky--and I'm wondering which is best for this process; which are you using? Thanks again!
You make it look so easy! I’m trying to make a pattern and then cut it out on removable vinyl. Do you have any suggestions? I have photoshop and cricut.
So uh is this how you did your first pattern? Im thinking I dont have the money to get that fancy printer/cut. Would it work to just... Print in sticker paper and cut the desing myself, with scissors? 😅
Great video. I’ve been doing glass for a little bit now but just started using a circuit to cut patterns. Quick question. How exactly does adding that strip of color in photoshop keep the circuit design space from resizing?
Really interesting. I was at Hobby Lobby today looking at those Cricut machines. Come home to google what the differences were between the ~$400 one vs. the $250 version they had. Is there one you would recommend? I want to make patterns for fused glass. Thanks!
Hi. Amaya Jade. 🧡 thank you for this video. but I have few questions. could I just use procreate for drawing the pattern and sizing it. Then print it on an A4 sticker paper and then handcut the black line ? Because I don’t have photoshop and cricut too. and i am gonna living on a van. So I would like to keep it simple as it can. Thank you again ! Hope you see my comments 🧡
Also. if I buy a cricut machine in future. Can I use only procreate and cricut machine ? Would it be possible to do it without photoshop ? thank you. 😇
Dang. I was hoping that seeing a video of the process would make it less intimidating or expensive lol. I guess if it were wasy (or cheap) everyone would be doing it. Great video though, very interesting and explained well!
Yeah mine cuts too deep too. I have explorer air 3 (Amaya has the air 2) I have about a dozen settings for vinyl so it's hard to know which one. I asked on a group how I can resolve this and someone suggested the washi setting so I'm gonna try that and see if it helps. Right now my machine cuts right through the backing paper too
Hey Amaya. How do i get the pdf pattern to turn into a png without having to re draw it? ......like i bought your pattern but i cant send it straight to cricut as it's a pdf. Also Design space resizes it too,, so how do i know what size it should be? I think i must be missing something?
You actually want it to cut out a small gap between pieces to accommodate for the foil/solder. I usually leave a thickness of around 3% when I draw the pattern in procreate. As long as it’s not too thick it will be fine!
@@AmayaJade Awesome Video! i have a question, I use illustrator to draw because i dont have an iPad, but 2pt strokes lines seem too thin compared with 3% brush in Procreate, when i upload both designs on the cricut, so what will be a good stroke points value to draw in Illustrator? thanks
It's beautiful but seems like an expensive hobby. Maybe selling would make it sustainable? I love crow art so much!
It’s definitely an expensive hobby 😅

I guess it depends, you can get many of the materials used and I'll buy old broken pieces to reuse the glass

@@671donna Did you make another layer for drawing over the original picture? Or are you using the same one?
Edit: Grammar
Thank you for posting this process. So much easier than cutting out patterns by hand.
Wow. You update me very well. I learned to do all by hand. Just a question, how do you shorten the space that you need to place the pices together?
Your teaching skills are very good. I really like the way you show and explain how to do the steps. Thx
If you go into calligraphy and use the mono brush you get the same result, it’s perfect for outlining stickers for print and cut
I love the company you use for sticker paper! The explanations you give make the process so much less intimidating.
Glad it was helpful! ☺️

Thank you!! Your work has inspired me to take a stained glass class, so I hope I can use this method in the class!
That’s so cool! Hope you have fun 😊
I always wondered how you did the stickers! ❤
The stickers make it so much easier! 💞
Same! I thought you were buying them somewhere…
@@AmayaJadeis it possible to do everything in photoshop?
Thank you so much! Just took a class, but have watched your videos. This would have made things much cleaner, I think!

Yes, you can just print it out and cut it with scissors! That’s how I started 😊
This is so helpful, thank you!
Is the sticker paper easy to remove off of the glass once you are done grinding? Thanks
Yes it is!
I can't believe I missed this one! I've been dying to see it!
Are you able to use the stickers more than once?
Great video. I’ve been doing glass for a little bit now but just started using a circuit to cut patterns. Quick question. How exactly does adding that strip of color in photoshop keep the circuit design space from resizing?
Without that strip the design space doesn’t recognize the entire canvas, it crops it right up to the line art & then the sizing is all wrong!
Really interesting. I was at Hobby Lobby today looking at those Cricut machines. Come home to google what the differences were between the ~$400 one vs. the $250 version they had. Is there one you would recommend? I want to make patterns for fused glass. Thanks!
I just use the explore air 2!
Would you be able to photo copy from google if you can’t draw ?
Is there a part 2? I wanted to see how the pieces get put on the glass. 😕

Yes that works! If you do get a cricut you do not need the photoshop!
Hi! Thanks for the video. What printer and what cricut do you use? Does the kind of printer matter?
can you cut out the pattern by hand if you don't have a cricut machine?
Yes!
These was great, thanks for the tip

Hey! Just doing my research before buying everything lol, how do you transfer from photoshop to cricut? How do you get the file into cricut to print?
I save it as a png and then bring that into the Cricut design space!
@@AmayaJadedo you use a print feature from the cricut design space? Or do you print from photoshop and then cut it with cricut after?

I've tried doing this but my Cricut is cutting out around my pattern lines, not on the lines, so leaving a gap between the pieces. Any advice?

Why do you need photoshop to create the canvas? Does procreate not have the ability to make canvas sizes?
It does but I print directly from photoshop so that’s why I use it!
@AmayaJade is there any advantage to doing it through photoshop for printing as opposed to doing it all in procreate?
Not really, it’s just personal preference!
