Despite the language barrier, this song got a heart, I can feel this music emotion. When this music played and I remember that one scene when the elderly crew sacrifice themselves for the younger generations.
THAT was a real example of "going down in a blaze of glory" 5 elderly men wiping out the Motorad Fleet and paving the way for Uso and co to win the fight
After so many years, I still think of this song, and the song that Shakuti sings. The last scene with Katejina returning home and blinded was quite memorable.
This is not the most well known gundam song, but surely one of the best. Of course, the VG story made it more memorable than it could be on its own. For me, after so many years, still only 00's music can be a contender alongside this, for best gundam music
I'd say GS and GSD has some great songs too... but I am biased for TM Revolution / Takanori Nishikawa. Been a fan of his since the mid to late 90s when I was a kid and heard "Heart of Sword" for the first time.

By the look of your profile picture, it seems the WHOLE series stuck with you. I finished the series about three years ago, and infrequently come back to this song to recollect the final stretches of V Gundam. Oh boy. This series had some of the finest moments of the Gundam universe despite all the brutality and agony the characters go through. The scenes with this music, the scene where old people sacrificing themselves and the final moment of Shakti and Katejina, were moments where everything kicked in and made this series unforgettable.
@@MF2X360 It been 11 months since I finished Victory (as of now typing this comment) and I too can confirm that Victory Gundam stuck with me. listening to this song has me thinking of the final scene of the series and it's incredibly bittersweet, making me think: Wow after 153 years is this what the Universal Century ultimately comes down to? After all that time and the Century ended in bloodshed just as it had begun, never to end in peace?
@Voltan hey being crippled for life, losing all your memory of the past year, going to live in a city that was burned down over a year ago, and not knowing it was your fault and being punished for it without even knowing why is pretty harsh once you think about it. its like starting a new leaf but still having the problems of your past ife haunting you and not knowing why.

welll well she did get mind screwed. and the brain is what controls your entire body. so in otherwords she could also have a light case of what happened to camille at the end of Zeta. she doesn't have the abillity to send commands to sertain parts of her body anymore.
A lot of people disliked the "poor" animation quality, and the iffy mechanical design. and there were quite a few holes in the story. When taken as a whole, this one beats every single Gundam series made since (yes, i'm talking about WING and SEED). the drama of knowing that just because a character was important meant nothing when it came to living or dying. When someone died, it wasn't just some unknown redshirt like in Star Trek, it was a character that we had come to like or hate.

You know? Victory sure is a weird show, with a really weird message about gender roles, it even has a weird commentary about religion with how the zanscare empyre sees their queen, and the story is really sad with sad deaths happening most of the time (which isn't really a good thing since this show can get really repetitive with them), overall, I think that this show is kind of a mess because Tomino wasn't in his best while doing it. However, despite all of it's flaws, it has some things that I really appreciate, and I believe that this song is the best thing to describe them, because, while the feelings that this song gives are mainly sad, it also has a really powerful part that makes you feel determinated, I like to think that most of victory's gundam message, is about while in really bad times, you need to give the best out of you. It also helps that this plays in one of the best death scenes that I have seen in this franchise.

The animation was actually pretty decent and consistent, the problem with it was that hardly any scenes had shading, making a lot of the show look cheap and flat.
If you compare to one of the prior shows with the most heavy shading, namely Zeta, well it's clear that overall the animation in Victory is better, so it ended up not being purposeless
