i think its just asian culture thing. Mr. Song stepped up and said he will deal with it. to trample over that conviction and disrespect your elders in the same time is a terrible thing in asia. Add on top of that the fact jinwoo is trying to keep his identity hidden it is more than understandable why he hoped mr. song could do it without his interference. the moment he saw its over for song, jinwoo jumped in without hesitation so i dont think it was ever the moral dilemma of letting them die or not
Respect for elders is a huge thing in asia, well specially in korean I think that's one of the reason he let mr. Song since he ask for it...
I think it was ok for the time he took. Like you said he had a secret to keep. He stopped it before Mr. Song died. He doesn't have to be captain sav a h*e until there is a h*e that actually needs saving. It's not like Mr Song is not a hunter (a master) as well. Give the man a chance to try.

@@mogray90 That's all cool if we're just expecting the best case scenario. In actuality though if this was a real scenario, Jin Woo is not guaranteed to be able to protect Mr. Song in that situation. If the show is being realistic he could have easily died there because Mr. Song was obviously outclassed and a fatal blow can be struck in the blink of an eye. Given that Jin Woo can seemingly sense power levels he knew Mr. Song wasn't going to win or even come close. You look at the results and can say give Mr. Song a chance to try but the obvious choice is to just work together to defeat him instead of just letting Mr Song go in alone. The show tries to hype a moment where Jin Woo can come in and save the day when it wasn't necessary.

Thing they they skip from a Manhwa. One of the prisoner was faking his death. He asks Jin woo for to get him out of the dungeon after killing Kang. Instead of getting him out., Jin woo drag him to the boss room full of gobline + boss and they all gang on him. And Jin woo clear the dungeoun.
that's freaking INSANE! i wish we could have seen that! Maybe they're trying to slightly change his character in the anime tho?
You can correct me, but I seen someone say that only happen in the manhwa not the light novel, and the show is going by the novel, while using the manhwa as a reference.
Solo Leveling picked up big time in this episode! The animation was off the charts!
