I watched him live in Boston at his breaking out moment during the 2004 DNC. John Kerry was running for president, and I knew Kerry was going to lose to Bush, the country was still scarred from 9/11.
Anyways, after Obama's speech, I turned to a friend and said, that's our next Democratic President. And boy am I happy I was right.

He probably means that the musicians had to adjust their playing to the key Obama was singing in. He starts with a B flat, you usually start with a C. So the musicians had to transpose their playing on spot.

He did an 'amazing' job giving the eulogy and singing this song! He is also the closest thing this nation has had to a true father figure in a really long time.
