    LOVE the fact that you’re a teacher who also loves lux too. I have a designer bag collection as well. You’re def spot on about prioritizing. I’m more on saving and become debt free this year but next year I’m getting a new bag I have my eye as my reward. It’s all about balance…

      Yes! We work hard for our money - it's nice to treat ourselves sometimes. But like you said, it's all about balance and not impulse buying 💕

    Best decision ever to buy property first. It really grounds your finances (provided one pays it off) xx

    The best bag I bought and love for work is that black Marc Jacobs tote with the guitar strap. I saw your video and ordered it right after.

    I am a Nurse doing about the same things, but not writing it down kind of keeping track in my head. The overtime situation I used to do that, but then too exhausted to really enjoy that new purse and didn't want to take it to the hospital with me, last year was a blur to me now, so working less is a luxury to me. It really is a balancing act now, this app might work for me now.

      Thank you so much for all your hard work. Nurses are amazing and the amount of stress you deal wth and overtime you put in, is truly remarkable!

    I remind myself regularly that I’m blessed to have the few luxury bags that I own and love and don’t need to keep buying more. It also helps to remind myself that not one person on this planet, other than myself, cares what handbag I’m carrying or the price/brand of it. The average person can’t spend like these influencers. I noticed that your app showed a haircut. Do you not cut your own hair anymore? I now have enough sparkles (aka gray 😜) that I spend a pretty penny at the salon regularly. Ugh. I’ve spent about $14k on vet bills in the last 12 months and taking care of my fur kids definitely takes priority over bags.

    • @LValiquette
      @LValiquette  3 года назад +4

      Yes! Having a small handbag collection, that you have worked hard for, really helps to appreciate those bags. I don’t even know how some youtubers purchase luxury goods weekly. Ohhh I do occasionally trim my hair still - good eye btw! But, I had an unfortunate incident where my hand slipped when I was cutting it😂. Since then, I’ll go get major cuts by a professional. Fur kids are 100% more important - bags can’t cuddle you. I hope the everything is going well! Always good to catch up!

    "If it's not on sale you don't need it bad enough; when it's on sale, you stock up".
    That started out of ness. and turned into a lifestyle. That's how I get life's little extra's.

    So well said and could not agree more! Such as healthy and balanced approach to luxury for those of us who can't afford to unbox an Hermes bag every other week haha. My partner and I are also trying to save like crazy for a house and it has definitely made me realize there's a lot of stuff I do not need - it's a bit of a balancing act, but I hope you reach all your savings goals!

      Thank you! There are so many things that are more important than luxury goods. I think some people lose sight of their priorities. I hope that you and your partner reach your savings goals as well. House>bags😂

    Great video! I love that you emphasize that luxury bags are not a necessity in life! I totally agree! I still love my few LV bags but I realized as I gotten older I don’t really need them (but still be able to admire them from afar!). As savings were mentioned I thought I’d also share that one of the things I have learned recently is the importance of saving for the future, specifically for retirement! I have an RRSP, TFSA, pension and a RESP for my child. If I ever feel the need to drop $2,500 on a bag I think about those savings account and how much $2,500 can grow more with compound interest over the years!

    • @LValiquette
      @LValiquette  3 года назад

      Oh yes! I have a TSFA and RRSP too. You’re so right, the amount of interest accrued over time really puts that $2500 handbag on the back burner - not needed!

      YES! Everyone should take advantage of having multiple savings accounts (if they are free)! I think most people need to have that visual to fully understand how much they are saving.

    We invested in house and stocks and retirement . That made us financially stable and secure . Buying a ton of Chanel bags would not have done it . I have only two luxury bags with me . I enjoy them . Why does any one need in multiples .. . So I bought two of them. I use one for work and other I take it to parties and night outs . I will not buy more because I don’t want to spend another 2000$ or 3000$ on a purse . Just buy things with a plan and thought . Don’t just randomly buy things you cannot afford. You don’t have to give up your urges but don’t go overboard

    These tips are honestly very practical and to the point, which I love! I've always been someone who would rather budget and save my money as opposed to owning anything luxury, and while I still stand by this, I am starting to understand the appeal a lot more when it comes to luxury fashion in general. Perhaps once I graduate (from community college) I'll finally take the plunge on a new Gucci wallet, but until then, I'm still using the heck out of what I have right now 😊

      Yes! love your mindset! Luxury items are nice to treat yourself to, but only if your are in a position to do so! I didn’t start buying any until I had been working at my job for a few years and had bought a place first. There are so many affordable high street and contemporary brands that make amazing pieces.

    I have the Gucci Horsebit and it’s worn horribly. I’m a teacher too, I bought it for school but I’m so disappointed in its lack of quality. I made a video on it on my channel. Hope you find a better made one.
