The pops of color are perfect too because you have pinky Shades already in the pallet. I think it was a perfect tiny little corner of the whole huge pallet to throw in a few random colors. I definitely think it was the right decision because that way you do not have to reach for any other palette to throw in a pop of color
Instead of replacing those colourful shades with cool toned neutrals, they could've made half the warm & true neutrals that are so similar (almost doubles!) Into cool ones. Then you would have transition & crease shades on cool, neutral & warm spectrum & be able to use whichever you prefer with the brighter colours.
I have the Beauty Glazed palette. I like it pretty well and use it every day! Like you said, though, it's not ultra pigmented. It's not BAD, but it's not going to fool anyone into thinking it was expensive. You can get around this a little by wetting your brush, but I'm sure the Jac Hill palette has great pigment without the need to do this. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Beauty Glazed for anyone who's on a budget, but if you've got the extra money you should probably get Jac Hill. :)
I just got this palette in the mail and they were so good!! The purple has such a good formula which is something you can’t really find. All of them are so pigmented too
I just left ulta a few days ago and got the morphe 3502 pallette. I saw this one for 23 dollars and wanted it but hadn't done any research on it yet. this was right on time for me because I'm getting ms.hill's pallet now
I never understand why there’s so much hate w/ JHill! She works hard and deserves ALL she has. As far as the palette, i paid $35 after the affiliate code. I bought some other stuff so my shipping was free. Morphe charged more to compensate Jaclyn for her hard work plus it’s a different formula w/ new pressing machines (they explained). It’s still a heck of a lot cheaper than a Jeffree Star, Laura Lee or Christen Dominique. They’re palettes are $42(ish) w/ only 12-15 shadows. She has 35!!!! THIRTY FIVE PEOPLE!!!
I feel like she's someone that people love to hate. I'm not a fan of her and have my own opinions, but like I said, it's just annoyances. I don't know how hard she's worked and if she deserves what she has because I don't know her, but I'm sure she's not a terrible person who is worthy of hate. Yeah, people like to complain about everything instead of looking at the big picture.
It’s definitely not you! Purples are the hardest eyeshadows to make. That’s what sets some of the pricier brands apart (Viseart) from the mainstream. Most companies just can’t pull it off.
Greta M Natasha Denona nails the purples in the Lila palette. Shop HASH carries and brand called BAD HABIT and they have done an AWESOME job “duping”. I have both, deff should just check them out. They are so good and sooooo affordable.
April May Yes. Natasha Denona is another high end brand that Nails it! However, ND just doesn’t work on me. The shadows just won’t stick to me, no matter what I do. It’s like magic vanishing makeup! I can literally blow it off, even as swatched. Lorac and Tarte are the same for me. But that’s my personal chemistry.

Ahhh! I saw this palette on Amazon last night! I have the new release of the JH palette. Bought it at Ulta, wish I had known about this one! I did a review on this palette a while ago, and I had pretty much the same thoughts:) Hope you are having a great week!
Also, I did a look with the greens in the beauty glazed palette and it was soo pretty! The shimmers apply much better with your finger or with your brush wet if that's something you don't mind doing. I guess it isn't really a dupe like you said but it's pretty dang similar and way cheaper lol. You can def still get a pretty look with it. #mommaonabudget

You said exactly how I feel about Jaclyn’s palette not having a white or cream matte shade, I use one to set my primer on my lid and I have to reach for another palette to do that. Other than that I really love the palette. Thank you for doing this. It is very helpful!

I love what oh said about this being a good social media palette..SO TRUE. it is nice but really it’s strong suit is the swatches pulling you in. The old morphe Formula was awesome imo

But just doing a look with maybe 4-5 shadows and doing one on one eye and the other pallets on the other eye to see if they can get same look for fraction of the price. Just an idea for a follow up video. Even if you just did photos of the looks when u worse those in the am and at end of day to see wear time
is the impresses you pallet toxic? it has tin oxide and tocopheryl acetate. tin oxide can cause mental fume fever and tocophetyl acetate is irritating to the skin
I do have the JH palette and enjoy it. I do like the pops of color, but I agree are your ideas too. I didn't think price was bad and I agree with you too about paying more for less product doesn't make sense to me either
I think the increase in price (over 50%) made more people upset than the actual price. Changes in formulation & pressing is a large part of what the original price pays for (ie. research & development) and is necessary to remain profitable and grow your market share. This price hike was about greed - JH's commission and increasing Morphe's revenues. If the percentage increase was 10-15% no one would have been upset.
I think that is because I rather day $45 for a HIGH END palette rather than paying like $38 for a palette that is not high end. and the palettes that are $45 is bigger than the JH palette.
The JH palette is THE SHIT!! I’m currently in cosmetology school and also doing a HD application course and everyone in both LOVES it. They hit that out of the park. I’m very much a collector of all makeup. For a while I was neglecting all my other palettes but I do find myself reaching for my Natasha Denona but that has NOTHING to do with the performance of the JH but more just trying to use my ND to Justify splurging.
I am happy for anyone who has a hustle and and is making it in the world. I have tried to watch JH’s videos and just cannot get with her. She is not my cup of tea. I don’t care for the way the pallet looks. Those bright swimming pool blues and greens and then all the repeat shades. No bueno for me.
There’s a real official beauty glazed on Ali express u can get this for like $12 US. Also I don’t think it’s meant to be an exact dupe but it’s similar
I really like the look of this pallet, but I'm so cool toned that I wish she would have done a half mix or even talk about making a new pallet but having it be cool. The three colors I die for are cranapple, cola, and the forest shade, but I'm not buying a pallet that expensive for three shadows that I could get to work. XD

Great video really thorough thanks for sharing I wouldn't mind owning the Jaclyn Hill palette but on the flip side I have heard other videos that mentioned how similar some of the shades are on the eyes and those blues that really pop out and make the Jaclyn Hill palette that everyone was talking about before it came out and when it launched I don't really wear those colors I lean towards more of the berries maroons , purples , pinks , Silver's and any unique color I can get ect.💙💜💗💚💛
No the 1st version it plain matte white not plastic cover and didnt came with the colours, I have the 1st release in the UK, I pre-ordered it and I love the shadows but not the palette or the fact it didn't came with the shades names. 😉 xx

I absolutely loooove the Jhill palette and highly recommend it to any newbie or makeup junky like myself! Anyways, I really appreciate this chicks honesty bcuz if I wanted to by this knock off she would have saved me some coin ya kno! I mean they got this on HUSH for $25! 😶
To me, it's just the "bang for your buck" aspect. When you see a palette for $15 for 9 shades and a palette with 35 shades for $22, I just can't bring myself to pay that much for such a small amount. It just makes more sense to me, personally. Even if I won't use every single shade, they're there, haha.

I don’t look at Blue and the pops of color as Not Cool colors and I don’t see why orange is a good color for eyes but blue is not. I guess I just don’t get it.
It's not necessarily that they're not "cool colors," because they are... but I consider them to be pops of color. Cool colors, to me, are grays, taupes, mauves, pinks, etc. Orange tones are wearable. Blue is not. Blues are hard for me to pull off. Some may disagree, but that's how I personally feel.
This palette was meant to be Jaclyn in a palette, not something to appease her fans/followers. I think Jaclyn did an amazing job putting together a palette that represented her and who she is.
True, but she's selling it to her fans. It's not just for her use. When you create products, you make them to appease customers of the product. What else is the point of selling anything, you know?
Nikki D that is not true. Yes, you can buy fake products, but that is small sellers who suddenly disable their site, BUT - beauty glaze has it official (yes it is official!) site. If you buy from them on AliExpress, it is great. I also recommend Focullure’s palettes. They are beautiful!

I don’t look at Blue and the pops of color as Not Cool colors and I don’t see why orange is a good color for eyes but blue is not. I guess I just don’t get it.
It's not necessarily that they're not "cool colors," because they are... but I consider them to be pops of color. Cool colors, to me, are grays, taupes, mauves, pinks, etc. Orange tones are wearable. Blue is not. Blues are hard for me to pull off. Some may disagree, but that's how I personally feel.

This palette was meant to be Jaclyn in a palette, not something to appease her fans/followers. I think Jaclyn did an amazing job putting together a palette that represented her and who she is.

Nikki D that is not true. Yes, you can buy fake products, but that is small sellers who suddenly disable their site, BUT - beauty glaze has it official (yes it is official!) site. If you buy from them on AliExpress, it is great. I also recommend Focullure’s palettes. They are beautiful!
