Nuss Collection Presents 1974 Mack M45 Prime Mover 45 Ton Off Highway Truck

Welcome to the Nuss Collection Truck Museum!
Hi, I’m Bob Nuss. Here we have an impressive piece of trucking history: a 45-ton Mack M45 off-highway truck. Originally, these trucks were only available in orange, but this one has been repainted and modified into a tractor configuration.
This truck, originally part of Hallamore's fleet, was used in a push-pull setup to haul million-pound loads. It features a powerful 16V71 Detroit diesel engine paired with a big Allison automatic transmission. When we acquired it, we replaced the rusted oil bath air cleaners with dry-type ones and restored the truck to its former glory.
The M45 is mounted on a 1948 Rogers beam trailer, known as a "wiggle wobble" trailer. The unique design allows the wheels to lean left or right to aid in turning, and the trailer is entirely detachable for easy loading and unloading. To get this massive truck onto the trailer, we had to raise it with a wrecker due to its size.
The red, white, and blue paint scheme on this truck and trailer reflects Mack's special 200th anniversary logo from the early 1970s. It’s a rare and remarkable piece, and we invite you to come and experience its size and history firsthand!
