So many great options! I love the look of all of these dresses, but the only one I've made so far is the Belle, which I've made three of! I found the instructions completely impossible, but I did find a couple of very helpful video sewalong/tutorials here on youtube that were absolutely invaluable. I couldn't have sewn it without them. They are easily searchable (Style Arc Belle Tutorial) and I definitely recommend them if anyone else is looking to make one. It's finally heading into Winter here in Australia, but I think next Summer I'm going to try the Mabel. Thanks for the great and inspiring round up! 💙
Sarah you absolute dolly! What a helpful video, and perfect timing. I will be sewing a dress for my bestie who has miserable luck finding ready-to-wear. I think you’ve saved the day! 🥰
Thank you for the inspiration and your comments about each dress, they are so helpful. Have decided to make a Mabel and hope it looks as fabulous on me as all yours do. 😊
Thanks for the suggestions! My most worn summer dress is the Itch to stitch Recoleta in linen, with the short sleeves. It also has a facing on the outside of the neckline
I've been wanting to make both the TATB Mabel and the Style Arc Belle, but I've been unsure about whether or not they'd work for me. Thanks for the inspiration!
Crinkle viscose is the devil. I hate sewing it and then the dress stretched out of shape terribly. I didn’t learn to sew using “proper techniques” from my grandmother BUT she taught me to sew very neatly where the insides look as pretty as the outsides. She also didn’t use patterns! May Belle would be so proud of me now. I have since learned the proper techniques and enjoy continuing to learn different ways to do different techniques from patterns.
Oh I love this! What a lovely sewing legacy 💕 my Grandma is an excellent Seamstress- she was evacuated to live with a Seamstress during WW2 and honestly her sewing is just beautiful. I aspire to the inside looking as good as the outside 🙏🏻
So beautiful! Do you think the Willow dress could somehow have a more A line shape for the skirt? I love how it looks but that gathered squared-ish shape is not flattering at all on me. Also the Tamzin looks like it was made for you 💕
Thanks lovely - I think that it would work really well with an a line skirt. Also you could add a tier on the bottom which would give it a bit more volume at the bottom without having the change the shape too much!
The Belle is fantastic - but all your dresses look amazing. Makes sewing very worthwhile!
Thanks Helen - it is such a treat when you find a pattern that works!

Fab advice- thanks for sharing 💕
You always look incredible in everything you make and wear . Good job x x x
Aww thank you lovely 💕
The dress with tucks reminds me of the dresses my mother made me when I was little. The tucks were there to let out when I grew.
I love that idea - had never thought of the practical side of them before 💛
They are all gorgeous on you Sarah!
Thanks Annette 💕
I am with you on the ready to wear front. Thank You for these recommendations brilliant. 🙏🏼❤️💜💙
Thanks for watching, Sarah 💕

Glad to be of use, Polly! Have you picked a pattern yet?
Hi Sarah, your dresses are beautiful, thanks for a great vlog, there are a few going on my “to make” list 😂❤
Thanks lovely 💕

I hadn't seen that pattern before but it is lovely - looks like it would be a real workhorse too!
I’m just going to say it ……. Indigo !!
I have actually never made it which I think is unacceptable 😂
My latest go to pattern is the Love Notions Tempo dress with the new(ish) sleeve add on …. Enjoyed seeing your summer dress patterns too!
Ooo that is very pretty! Thank you for the recommendation 💕
