I will never forget, as a Jays fan in 1991... The Rotation was SET.. There were injuries and Juan Guzman was called up to pick up the slack. He started 0-2.. THEN HE BECAME ONE OF THE MOST DOMINANT JAYS' PITCHERS IN THEIR HISTORY.
Bo Jackson talked a lot about how the White Sox were 'playing a man short', yet when Bo actually got the chance to back up his talk.....he blew it. Big Time in this series. Game 5 was the biggest example of Bo failing to come through for the White Sox, especially after calling out his manager earlier in the series. Not surprisingly, Bo did not return to the White Sox after this season.
@@MeLoNHeAd00 Incredible athlete, but as a player in either sport, Bo might be the most overrated of all time. He was a .249 hitter before his injury and a .252 hitter after. Averaged 200 strikeouts for every 160 games he played.
If he had, nobody would even know who he was. Incredible athlete, but there are hundreds of guys who hit .250 and struck out 1/3 of the time to hit 30 homers.
Great game. The 92 & 93 Blue Jays were a powerhouse. As per this telecast, Jim Kaat is one of my favorite all time colour commentators, but Greg Gumbal was a very weak play-by-play announcer, with his annoying high rather squeaky voice, and no true feel for the game of baseball.
Another important game lost by the manager, Lamont stayed with Mcdowell too long who pítched extremely bad from the beginning, could not move the rotation well enough. The white sox big hitters could not do much either. Perhaps, tom kelly would have won this series for the sox in 7.
Juan Guzman is forgotten, but he was a superstar at the time

He wasn't even half the player he used to be .

Jose DeLeon has always been a mystery to me also. Who knows how much better he could've been if he pitched for a winning team
Tony Fernandez RIP best defensive shortstop of the era together with Ozzie Smith
Back then, the Blue Jays just seemed to have Jack McDowell's #!
I don't understand why the Jays cut Alomar after 1995 and Olerud after 1996.
Shoeless Joe, Hitless Bo.
Bo Jackson would later say, he wished he had Only Played Baseball.

Home plate ump was terrible.

Sadly, Bo doesn't know greatness in baseball.
@@jayhawk88z Yep. Alvarez was amazing. Fernandez, excellent as well.
hitting like that would get somebody sent down to AAA
@@jayhawk88z Yet some clamor for Bo to be enshrined in the Hall!
@@AngelSanchez-tq6lx He played for the Angels the next season then retired after that .
