I don't really use VIA. My preliminary (possibly wrong) understanding is that VIA is basically QMK configurator except it can automatically flash the firmware. VIAL can do what VIA can do, and also supports a few advanced QMK features. BTW, QMK configurator (config.qmk.fm/) doesn't support advanced QMK features
@@mentalflow VIA configures the QMK firmware *without* having to flash the firmware. It runs on the Web, only in Chrome. Vial is like VIA but it uses a fork of QMK. While VIA is closed-source, the vial application is open source. And it runs as an application on your OS. QMK configurator is there to build a custom firmware that you can then flash. It runs on the Web.
Hallo it's me again I wonder has vial have function can do exactly the same as Anne's magic fn . I know vial have lt() can do similar . But that is base on time like 175ms.when u type fast,it would wrong work.
But Anne's magic fn won't. Whatever how fast u hold caplock and tap the key it can perfectly switch layer . But if u hold caplock but don't tap any other key,it will do caplock.
What AP2 has is called mod-tap in qmk which is a basic feature. You can see my other video. Mod-tap is supported even in the qmk configurator website github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/blob/master/docs/mod_tap.md
Can i use Tab dance like this ? Ex. Spacebar button On tap = Spacebar On Hold = M0(layer1) On Double tap = TG(layer1) Ex2. LeftShift On tap = BackSpace On Hold = LeftShift
I'm trying to do something similar with my macropad. Have you made any progress? In my case I want: One tap = macro double tap = Layer cycle I already have layer cycling working (with pretty nice backlight indication), but I don't really manage to get tap dance to work at all.
The delay is exactly why I also don't like all of mentioned features. Delay is killing me. Do you have your own set of favorite features?
Combo, autoshift on symbols and numbers
For Mac users, these features are available with the third part software Karabiner 😉

that auto shift is for any qmk keyboard or just few specific keyboard?

you can tune the tap-hold settings under QMK Settings tab
