    Great video, however many times it's played; thanks for posting.
    My Dad was a Foreman Ship's Rigger; with IMR. They usually did gear for Boston trawlers. There were some fine trawlers in those days; and good men to crew them. I remember some boys of my age went Pleasuring, on the Summer Grounds.
    Many of the nets were made/repaired upstairs at Dad's. I also remember Dad sat pulling bits of wire from his hands, after splicing the steel warps.
    Happy times for us; but a hard life for crews, especially in Winter.
    Watch out for 18.10mins haha.

    Sadly not much trawlers in scarboro now or fish processing,,seems to be a few inshore boats a pipelines gaurd ship and a see weed harvester..thank you for this film jane..oh forgot the pirate ship

      Yes, quite correct Gordon, and now the shellfish are dying off due to pollution. Is this what they boldly call 'progress' I wonder? Thank you for the comment.
