Great video, however many times it's played; thanks for posting. My Dad was a Foreman Ship's Rigger; with IMR. They usually did gear for Boston trawlers. There were some fine trawlers in those days; and good men to crew them. I remember some boys of my age went Pleasuring, on the Summer Grounds. Many of the nets were made/repaired upstairs at Dad's. I also remember Dad sat pulling bits of wire from his hands, after splicing the steel warps. Happy times for us; but a hard life for crews, especially in Winter. Watch out for 18.10mins haha.
Sadly not much trawlers in scarboro now or fish processing,,seems to be a few inshore boats a pipelines gaurd ship and a see weed harvester..thank you for this film jane..oh forgot the pirate ship
