Thank GOD the 5-Series planners said NO to the 4/7 Series grille. The 5 has always had a rhythm all its own at BMW. These updates don't standout, which is always a 5er hallmark. I'm glad they worked on a few shoetcomings and yes, this looks more desirable than the oviod E-Class, although the Es interior is serious business, but BMW is catching up. Overall, I like that BMW held restraint on the 5, hoping it will become ageless like a E39.

a true story. i went to audi and mercedez for test drive after i got my driver license just after 7days, they all act non-interest and rejected. then i went to BMW, the sales made a smart decesion to bring the car out and swith to me to drive after get out of the 4S Store. so i bought BMW. i changed 3car within 6years but always choose BMW. the drive experience is fantastic.
How did you manage to buy a BmW just after you got your license at such a young age ?

Nice job...like the refresh, and love this color. I had a 2001 530i, and I think it was smaller than the current 3 series. The 5 series has definitely skewed more luxury than sporty as it has matured, likely to appeal to aging baby boomers who have the deep pockets to afford this price range. Would love to see the plug in hybrid version.

how do you feel about the sound isolation of the cabin comparing with the e-class?
The sound isolation is actually great, almost on par with that of the e class. id say the e has a bit more isolation but really not that much difference anymore. i cant say about the brandnew e class tho as i havent reviewed it yet. iv reveiwed this 5 series tho so if u want ur welcome to check it out on my channel :)
Just ordered a 2021 540 i xdrive, will pick it up in about 10 weeks. Went with the Bluestone Metallic, Ivory White Nappa leather seats, premium package, heated steering, Sensatec dashboard, and spare tire. Wife didn’t like the blackness of the M-sport package, so we went with the standard sport package. List was $70,335, I paid $63,000 even - including all fees. So about 10% off. I think I got a decent deal - at least the best I could finagle out of the 3 dealers I was negotiating with. No matter what you pay, you always feel ripped off, but whatever - the wife is happy, and couple thousand either way isn’t going to kill me. Can’t wait to pick it up. We tried the M340i, but wife hated the way it drove - not luxurious enough for her, as she is used to her Lexus.

As a 5 series owner it sucks that we have to pay for extras that come on a freaking altima standard
If they would integrate the double screen system from the audi a6 into the middle panel here, this car would be dangerously good. In my useless opinion, those knobs/buttons(especially that high beam dial to the left hand side of the wheel or whatever that is) old.
the m sport version looks very cool
Don’t know why everyone is complaining about the dashboard, I think it looks nice. The last thing I need are a thousand more buttons.

Even so, the grille doesn't look as classy as the older models for some reason. And that paint color is terrible.

I have a 2020 540i M Sport and I’m curious why they would downgrade the seats to SensaTec as standard instead of Dakota Leather like in 2020. You would think the 5 series would have standard leather seats.
They did a ton of decontenting for 21 in the US. No more soft close doors, no more Laserlights, no auto park, no display key, no nightvision. Not even available, which all were last year. And the prices went up. Last years car would have cost me $90k as equipped the way mine is (M550 loaded). This years cost me $94k.
Which one is better compared to Audi A6??

Outdated interior vs the competition such as the audi A5 sportback and Mercedes E class
The rear looks somewhat better but they should have skipped the reflectors on the side of the taillights...reminds me of an inexpensive car.

hey guys, you need to improve your description when listening to the sound system... instead of generally saying it's ok..perhaps describe clarity, imaging, definition at the least...you fogot to touch on whether the car has a spare tire or fix it spray...
Love how extensive Savagegeese is with their audio system reviews. I think they will take this feedback well.
No spare tire since it's on run flats...and we will try to educate ourselves a bit more on audio to be more specific 👍
@@CarConfections Spare is a $150 option. There is an option for non-runflat Pilot Supersports on 20" wheels. I have it on my M550.
I will buy this in 3 years when it has done lost half its value! Then sell it before any issues arise.

no, they're actually testing the big grills on their low production models like the 4 series and M4/M3 to see how it appeals to the public. if those models fail they won't be losing a lot of money on them as they don't sell as much as the 3, 5 and other models. iv reviewed the new 4 series actually, ur welcome to check and see it on my channel :)

Watts is no indication of sound quality. Plus, there are options for a Harmon Kardon system or Bowers & Wilkins system.

Tipical bmw: it’s ok but if you want to feel like you drive a premium car you need a lot of extra options and bigger engine than this 4 cylinder.
The 4 cyl turbo is actually pretty stong. I wanted the 6 cyl but the extra $6k is too much and this one is not sluggish at all!

Yes turbo 4s are more efficient, but I remember when all BMWs came with the buttery-smooth I-6 standard. Its just something off-putting about this nice of a vehicle droning with a 4cyl under acceleration .
The I-6 B58 is such a better motor
@@JTM-MO YES! Just goes so much better with the character of BMWs. Pretty reliable and easier on maintenance than what's available now.
Engineered for performance and quality, but not reliability or dependability. This is a lease. Wouldn't own it outside of warranty.

Honestly not impressed..........I actually think the 2021 Acura TLX looks better outside and yes inside........The materials actually look more expensive and well made in the TLX also.
Well this was just a facelift so I wouldn't expect massive upgrades.
This still has better interior then the tlx but it’s much more expensive
