@@TazzSmk "Show FX inserts in TCP" turned on by default -- or rather it's part of the v7 theme. But to @vincelun3214's question, you need to add plugins to the track first, via the "FX" button on the track panel.
THis is neat so I tried it, new to customizing reaper. It's not allowing me to reinstall any of my old repositories after I converted to your configuration. Why? I sent you a message on your website because I'm very interested how my reaper doesn't work like it used to now.
Thank you so much! I'll definitely give this a try. I jumped to Reaper from PT and I spent quite a while trying to match the editing workflow. A video on your editing approach would be cool.
I don't do a lot of "comping" in my work, so I haven't made this a huge part of my workflow. However, I really do like the new lanes in v7 and generally prefer them to the old takes approach. I do, however, use lanes to make composite sounds for SFX, etc.
reaper is a dictionary word (even though as the name of the DAW it's an acronym), while ReaEQ and the like are not, so everyone pronounces them as they feel convenient, and it certainly inconvenient to pronounce it as double E, once for Rea and again for EQ, pronouncing it as a single E just doesn't sound right, the whole construct goes against English phonetic principles lots of non-Anglophone users have no problem pronouncing Rea as two syllables because that's how they are pronounced in their native language which doesn't recognize the "ea" as a special case
*FIX IN REPLY* Installing this got rid of all my custom actions?! What did this install do to my perfectly working Reaper? All my recent projects, all my templates, even some plugins stopped working, is there a reasonable way to remove this? You might want to let people know before they go and ruin their production setup for Reaper.
For anybody who runs into this kind of issue and modifies their Reaper install and screws everything up, you can ideally revert back to your previous settings by doing the following: - Options -> Show REAPER resource path in explorer/finder - After doing this, keep the folder open but close Reaper - There should be a folder called: PreviousConfigFiles - From that folder you will see several .ini files based on what you had previously modified - Copy these and paste them in the previous folder - Restart Reaper and ideally it should have worked, it did for me
Hmmm - I can see how that would be helpful for some people. But for now I'm going to keep my attention on the videos. If there's sufficient demand (and/or if I could convince an educational institution to support me to make it), that's something I could consider down the line.
Oh my goodness. Someone FINALLY has done it. This looks great! I can’t wait to try it.
Hope you like it!
Good stuff. Subscribed. Look forward to seeing where you go from here with these videos!
Just installed Reaper (coming over from Cakewalk). This video helps me a lot. Thanks.
Thank you!!!
It's really great.
It's easier for me to learn Reaper.
I have a question.
How do you display the PLUGIN LIST on the track in the editing window?
right-click into empty area in track panel, and enable "Show FX inserts in TCP (when size permits)" :)

Awesome. And yes, I'll make a video demonstrating the editing workflow in the near future!
Do you prefer takes or lanes to record/mix?

Simple really do we pronounce Reaper as "Reyaper"?

Exactly! ReQ, Retooled, Recomp, etc.

are you going to make a handy dandy PDF for navigating it?
