I was expecting the entire section from the station to just before the launch to be enclosed with HIGH QUALITY THEMING/ANIMATRONICS... Example: Radiator Springs Racers... I was also expecting the final break run to be enclosed as well with high DISNEY EXPENSIVE QUALITY theming/animatronics... Who the f*** approved all the Jack Jack's on a stick. -__-. Holy crap this is a new low for "Team Disney Anaheim"
Honestly, I was expecting so much more given that the most recent Disney in Shanghai has amazing mapping projections, animations, and top-notch effects. I understand that it was a refurb, but given how much they used the incredicoaster as their selling point for Pixar Pier, one would obviously expect much more of an experience. I mean cmon, they could have literally smacked screens inside of the tunnels with animations similarly to Universals methods of 'rides' and it would have been much more exhilarating. I love Disney, but half a year for this. You can't blame people for feeling underwhelmed on something that was hyped for over half a year. PS- Here come the Disney fanboys coming for my life. Rip.

Simple fixes that would've improved this tremendously: 1) Giving the on-ride figures at least SOME simple motion 2) Giving the on-ride figures interior projected faces so they're more than mannequins 3) Having the Jack-Jacks-on-a-stick turning and twisting to add motion and make it appear they're floating rather than just... on sticks... on a roof...
This looks so tacky. I just don't think it works well on a rollercoaster. I love the Incredibles but c'mon. Just look at those multiple Jack Jacks on a stick during the bunny hops. It doesn't look well.

Sir Isaac This is why we’ve stopped going to their parks. It’s not a quality experience for a premium price, it’s a subpar product for a premium price. Hope this underwhelming product starts to hurt their pocketbook so they change their ways.
ESpies Go to Disneyworld for a few years instead of Disneyland. They are about to open something that looks better than this, Toy Story Land, and by the time the building of New rides stoped, I have a feeling they will add more to this.
I like it, BUT if all the tubes had effects like the third one then it would be much much better. Just seeing black tubes with the characters in it, doesn't seem like the right Disney imagination. Definitely not too satisfied with the imagineer that put this together.
They're probably wearing Bob Iger brand TM shock collars and can't design anything that exceeds the measly budget that the overlord allots them through the corporate shareholder gods.

PeteC75 this is a Six Flags like move for Disney. They should be ashamed. Is it just me or have some of the trims been removed and the overall pacing of the ride sped up a bit? Or is that just wishful thinking? Lol
I love Six Flags...I love all theme parks and amusement parks, but I have higher expectations from Disney and Universal when it comes to theming. First, they have a tradition to uphold. Second, they charge a premium across the board from parking to admission to food to enjoy their parks. Rides like this or the new Fast and Furious ride at Universal are relative disappointments compared to what we expect from them.
Having ridden it, I really like this coaster. The redo is just ehhh. The tunnels are cool. The jack jacks on sticks are a fail (at least during the daylight). The real disappointment is the end. I really thought they were going to do something amazing, not so much. A bit of a missed opportunity.
I don’t understand all the negativity. The point of the revamp wasn’t to add animatronics and dress it up to have the effects like a sit down boat ride like Pirates of the Caribbean, the focus is the experience, you’re whipping through this coaster you’re not focused on animatronics for .5 seconds, this revamp is nice, not to much, but give the ride a theme it needed. Focus on the coaster experience itself and in that they did very well I feel.

Even though I haven't been on Screamin or Incredicoaster, I somewhat have mixed feelings about this revamp. I like Incredicoaster's theming however I like California Screamin's Ride Experience better, Incredicoaster's audio sounds similar to something Six Flags made with Terminator/Bizarro but with the incredibles characters (Not a fan of what they did with the second tunnel, I don't like how it drops when Bob keeps saying "cookie" repeatedly). However, Im really impressed with the other two tunnels, specifically the third one with Violet's Force Field. While of course you cant put holographic Jack Jacks or create a Ring of Fire that "magically" keeps riders safe, I think they did a great job with the theming for this ride, but once again I still prefer California Screamin over this because of the ride's on bard audio 7/10
As much as a Disney enthusiast as I am (trust me guys, Disney is LITERALLY my entire life), I had really high expectations for this one, and now that I saw it, it's not super incredible like I pictured- no pun intended. 😂 I hate to admit this, but I just feel like imagineers took the easy way around on this one. I mean, putting multiple Jack Jacks on large sticks that are extremely evident just isn't like them. But who knows? Perhaps they might just have temporarily put that there given the short amount of time they had to reimagine the entire Pier. Personally, I think that it's all permanent, but knowing Disney, they're most likely going to make a few small changes in the future here and there. After all, "Disneyland will never be completed." :)
Disney has the money to do better. They have done better, and they should have done better. Do NOT defend Disney when they can't even be assed to repaint the track of the ride they're """""renovating""""".

Lap bars? OSHA wouldn't have that. Also those trains wouldn't work with a lapbar. You'd have to have something like HangTime or Full Throttle, where the lapbar is capable of pinning the body down in a manner that restricts movement enough to keep you safe. The trains here are sorta big bucket seating style trains that really wouldn't have the space to have a lapbar with said function. If they re-designed the fleet of trains? Maybe, but then weight and other things come into play to keep the ride running at its regular pace. Red paint fades pretty quickly since we can't use certain paints in California.
Gonna be honest, I don't think having the tubes was such as great idea. It feels too fast to really get the whole story. The idea was good, but at the first launch you can't even see Dash at all and the only time it really slows down where you can see what's going on is when Mrs. Incredible and Mr. Incredible come into play. It sounds like you can barely hear the audio as well. I'm pretty sure it's loud, but it doesn't seem that way. Kind of a wasted overlay. :/
The tubes I think were for sound control. They didn't want people's screams to be heard too far away. Or something like that. But they opened with them back in 01. I feel like these little scenes in the tube are kinda wacky, blink-and-you-miss-it.
I love how they left most of the gold stars the same and painted 1/3 of them and all the rust they left of the track, top notch Disney! But in all honesty, we all loved the baby on the stick part and the second tube right lol
They can't repaint, Comifornia environmental regulations prevent the use of spray paint even high quality stuff outside so they would have to hand paint it which would take forever. So thank Nancy Pelosi for that.
I personally I don’t think they did a good job on it. It looks like they rushed it way to much and the animatronics don’t even move, also on the bunny hops the jacks jacks are just there with a stick and it doesn’t look good. Also some of the stars are still yellow and the track is rusted. Final review: 3/10

I remember when I was 7 I wanted to ride California screaming but my cousin wouldn’t allow me but my brother and my cousins bf went on it twice while I went on the little mermaid ride and as I got older I got scared of roller coasters for no reason and loved mission breakout/tower terror but two day ago I went on incredicoaster and I loved it! It’s looks scary but it’s actually not when you ride it the loop is my favorite part! Although not being able to see cuz of glasses and I didn’t want them to fall was a downfall for me but it’s injoyable and it’s faster at night for anyone wondering
When Dash says “Go!” It would be cool that they put a proyector for the night on the first sits. And then on the end that Dash gets Jack Jack and then the family appears and hug Jack Jack
DLP is my home park and I have NEVER been to California Adventure, so whilst I get why some people are upset that a classic ride got changed to this, I actually adore this new ride just from what I see. I feel like California Screaming was about nothing and now it actually sort of has a story. The figures throughout were really amazing looking as well. Idk I kinda love it. But again I've never actually been on it so my opinion could potentially be different if I had.

Okay. Just wanted to get a local's opinion on that. I've been told with how fast paced DLP's Space Mountain is that it was hard to get things cohesive. Personally 1.0 looked like the best incarnation. The From The Earth To The Moon/De la Terre à la Lune seemed exciting, cohesive story-wise, and had pretty good theming. Of course I'll never travel out of my country because its just not in my plans due to many reasons, so I won't get to actually *experience* it. Which kinda bums me out, you guys have one of the best looking Big Thunder Mountains in existence. I'm a fan of that era and would love to see that version. Also your Phantom Manor looks amazing and actually has a storyline that can be followed. Fantastic. For how unsteady "Euro Disneyland" started, it seems to have matured into a very nice park. I almost wish DCA could've had that quaintness.
I am so glad to see the neg reviews. I was telling myself, "Brave Warrior, stop being so negative. This is what people love. I am the only one sneering." more seriously. I can't be alone is preferring no dialogue during a coaster ride. It's distracting. I never knew this until Hyperspace Mtn when I found I either paid attention to the words or the ride experience but not both.
Multiple reasons. One, to increase anticipation for launch....a rolling launch on a coaster isn't really thrilling or exciting. You don't feel the acceleration. Also...for blocking. Coasters are divided up into different sections either known as blocks (most parks) or "zones" (Disney...at least Screamin they were known as zones). Basically its a segment of track. In certain parts there are brakes to bring a train to a complete stop in case the block/zone ahead of it is occupied by another train. There are also sensors along the track to let the computer system know where the train is. As long as the immediate block/zone ahead of the train is clear, the train can continue its journey. If it is occupied, the train will hit a set of brakes (block brakes) that will hold the train until the next block/zone is clear. That's why...on some days the trains sit longer at launch than others. Depending on the number of trains running and where they are on the course may increase the time spent on the brakes before launch. Also every once in a while the brakes up before the final helix area will catch a train due to too many trains in the station and brake zone down below.
This event will be a perfect thing for California Adventure. Here’s why: 1.Disneyland resort only has one Area themed to a Pixar Movie (Cars) 2. This new fest connect awesomely with the rest of the park because Cars is from Pixar and they have a cars themed area
They had A Bugs Land until recently where they shut it down in favor of shoehorning er I mean "featuring" a new land to Marvel IP. The original concept behind DCA 2.0 was actually trying to have the whole park have a story and be cohesive. It was California during Walt's time. Just because Cars is there doesn't mean they needed more Pixar. A pier full of Pixar IP actually adds nothing to that story.
my only problem is with the launch they should have had the countdown synced up with the launch to make it feel like dash is running with the coaster launching or had the countdown and have tie water effects go off to make it look like dash took off cause right now they have the countdown and then dash running on water then the launch happens hopefully they can fix that it should not be to hard
I expected more from this ride, since I live in Miami I usually go to Disney World and it is amazing. The planning, the set ups, everything is just great. When I went to go look up rides in California I expected something great since this was the original Disney. I was wrong. I usually have very high expectations for Disney since Disney World does such a good job but I am not impressed with this. I would not fly 6 hours just to ride that. It looks like a fun ride but it looks like everything was put on a budget. I am NOT going here anytime soon.
I don't understand why so many people are hating. I mean I get it, some people are disappointed and are allowed to have their own opinions. But seriously, it's just a roller coaster.
For everyone saying it's awful, keep in mind they didn't have a lot of time, and they still had a whole area to undergo construction. Before the ride was even transformed, it didn't have a theme at all, at least it has one now.
So if they didn't have a lot of time, they should've taken more time and done it right. Instead you get this rushed product that smacks of cheapness. The fact that people fail to realize Screamin was a steel coaster, themed to represent wooden coasters of the Boardwalk era is kinda sad. No wonder y'all are excited to see light up mannequins in a ride.
And I thought the re-theming of Tower of Terror was bad.. They just absolutely ruined California Screamin'! WOAH! THAT WAS SUCH A JOKE! Actually garbage! 'Incredicoaster'... More like 'Incredibly cheapster". -Very Disappointing.
i likd the ride but i thing hey could have made a show building enclosing the entire ride so the effects could be usefull and the outside could have like the city on the show building. i like the ride but hey in my opinion he best time to ride the incredicoaster is at night so the figures and effects can stand out more.
A true disney fan doesnt hate on them, but rather formally state what is wrong with it and how it could improve. If you arent a disney fan, what are you even doing here? Seriously, they are busy. They are working on 3 massive cruise ships, an entire ‘district’ for a park, a parade to replace the main street electrical parade, and even some artworks and other parades, and you expect them to finish something perfectly that’s simply the least of what they need to get done... Maybe when disney finishes with the stuff, they may go back to this and give it a nice new coat of paint and maybe a slight scenery change. Disney imagineers shouldn’t be ashamed of themselves. You should for pretending to be a Disney fan and then be rude about something that just came out and also a small project compared to what other things they are working on at the same time.

They need to at least have animated faces in the tubes. I understand why you can't do full fledged animatronics but animated faces with some audio in the scream tube itself is very easy to do. Also Edna should have been animatronic at least...
As we all wanted this ride to be better than this and i can agree with that , but we got to think of the imagineers point of view since this is an old ride and not done from scratch as a new attraction i'm sure it will need more time than 6 months to make it look amazing... most of the comments want it animated somehow as from what i have seen all must be in the dark to make it look amazing and magical that tunnel won't work because of the sunlight entering the tunnel (maybe??) or because the tunnel is just there and nothing can be animated either way its better than before you got to admit xD
I think overall it's a good ride, but I understand why people feel disappointed and underwhelmed by this. For example, when it's going through all of the tubes, specifically the 2nd one, it's literally just figurines attached to the black tunnel, and feels extremely cheap. Also, all of the Jack Jacks on the sticks looks stupid. The ride feels cheap and coming from Disney, I was expecting this to be so much better. But yeah, it still looks fun, but it just doesn't fit well into a Disney park.

They can't project anything into the tubes, it was really all they could do unless they changed the whole ride.

Pacific Fun California Screamin’ didn’t have a theme at all. It’s okay if you don’t like the “new” ride, but what theme did Screamin’ have?

The point of the revamp wasn’t to add animatronics and dress it up to have the effects like a sit down boat ride like Pirates of the Caribbean, the focus is the experience, you’re whipping through this coaster you’re not focused on animatronics for .5 seconds, this revamp is nice, not to much, but give the ride a theme it needed. Focus on the coaster experience itself and in that they did very well I feel.
Douglas Neumeyer it's the same experience as California screaming but the story is their trying to get jack jack so your kinda saying it was better before

What I would have done instead of having the first scene show so little and quick. You know we’re the car stops for like 15 secs. (While you wait for the 3,2,1 scream) I would have enclosed the entire space and do a very detail sequence with animatronics.
Wish it had more technology but it’s better than no theming.
Even though I haven't been on Screamin or Incredicoaster, I somewhat have mixed feelings about this revamp. I like Incredicoaster's theming however I like California Screamin's Ride Experience better, Incredicoaster's audio sounds similar to something Six Flags made with Terminator/Bizarro but with the incredibles characters (Not a fan of what they did with the second tunnel, I don't like how it drops when Bob keeps saying "cookie" repeatedly). However, Im really impressed with the other two tunnels, specifically the third one with Violet's Force Field. While of course you cant put holographic Jack Jacks or create a Ring of Fire that "magically" keeps riders safe, I think they did a great job with the theming for this ride, but once again I still prefer California Screamin over this because of the ride's on bard audio

As much as a Disney enthusiast as I am (trust me guys, Disney is LITERALLY my entire life), I had really high expectations for this one, and now that I saw it, it's not super incredible like I pictured- no pun intended. 😂 I hate to admit this, but I just feel like imagineers took the easy way around on this one. I mean, putting multiple Jack Jacks on large sticks that are extremely evident just isn't like them. But who knows? Perhaps they might just have temporarily put that there given the short amount of time they had to reimagine the entire Pier. Personally, I think that it's all permanent, but knowing Disney, they're most likely going to make a few small changes in the future here and there. After all, "Disneyland will never be completed." :)
Disney has the money to do better. They have done better, and they should have done better.

Lap bars? OSHA wouldn't have that. Also those trains wouldn't work with a lapbar. You'd have to have something like HangTime or Full Throttle, where the lapbar is capable of pinning the body down in a manner that restricts movement enough to keep you safe. The trains here are sorta big bucket seating style trains that really wouldn't have the space to have a lapbar with said function. If they re-designed the fleet of trains? Maybe, but then weight and other things come into play to keep the ride running at its regular pace.
Red paint fades pretty quickly since we can't use certain paints in California.

Gonna be honest, I don't think having the tubes was such as great idea. It feels too fast to really get the whole story. The idea was good, but at the first launch you can't even see Dash at all and the only time it really slows down where you can see what's going on is when Mrs. Incredible and Mr. Incredible come into play. It sounds like you can barely hear the audio as well. I'm pretty sure it's loud, but it doesn't seem that way. Kind of a wasted overlay. :/

The tubes I think were for sound control. They didn't want people's screams to be heard too far away. Or something like that. But they opened with them back in 01. I feel like these little scenes in the tube are kinda wacky, blink-and-you-miss-it.
I love how they left most of the gold stars the same and painted 1/3 of them and all the rust they left of the track, top notch Disney! But in all honesty, we all loved the baby on the stick part and the second tube right lol
They can't repaint, Comifornia environmental regulations prevent the use of spray paint even high quality stuff outside so they would have to hand paint it which would take forever. So thank Nancy Pelosi for that.

It looks like they rushed it way to much and the animatronics don’t even move, also on the bunny hops the jacks jacks are just there with a stick and it doesn’t look good. Also some of the stars are still yellow and the track is rusted. Final review: 3/10

I remember when I was 7 I wanted to ride California screaming but my cousin wouldn’t allow me but my brother and my cousins bf went on it twice while I went on the little mermaid ride and as I got older I got scared of roller coasters for no reason and loved mission breakout/tower terror but two day ago I went on incredicoaster and I loved it! It’s looks scary but it’s actually not when you ride it the loop is my favorite part! Although not being able to see cuz of glasses and I didn’t want them to fall was a downfall for me but it’s injoyable and it’s faster at night for anyone wondering

DLP is my home park and I have NEVER been to California Adventure, so whilst I get why some people are upset that a classic ride got changed to this, I actually adore this new ride just from what I see. I feel like California Screaming was about nothing and now it actually sort of has a story. The figures throughout were really amazing looking as well. Idk I kinda love it. But again I've never actually been on it so my opinion could potentially be different if I had.

Okay. Just wanted to get a local's opinion on that. I've been told with how fast paced DLP's Space Mountain is that it was hard to get things cohesive. Personally 1.0 looked like the best incarnation. The From The Earth To The Moon/De la Terre à la Lune seemed exciting, cohesive story-wise, and had pretty good theming. Of course I'll never travel out of my country because its just not in my plans due to many reasons, so I won't get to actually *experience* it. Which kinda bums me out, you guys have one of the best looking Big Thunder Mountains in existence. I'm a fan of that era and would love to see that version. Also your Phantom Manor looks amazing and actually has a storyline that can be followed. Fantastic.
For how unsteady "Euro Disneyland" started, it seems to have matured into a very nice park. I almost wish DCA could've had that quaintness.
So what changed? Did they just put up a couple of Tacky incredibles characters?

I can't be alone is preferring no dialogue during a coaster ride. It's distracting. I never knew this until Hyperspace Mtn when I found I either paid attention to the words or the ride experience but not both.

Where the ride stops at the beggining for the launch is where they should of shown Edna/Jack Jack. Also why does it stop??
Multiple reasons. One, to increase anticipation for launch....a rolling launch on a coaster isn't really thrilling or exciting. You don't feel the acceleration.
Also...for blocking. Coasters are divided up into different sections either known as blocks (most parks) or "zones" (Disney...at least Screamin they were known as zones). Basically its a segment of track. In certain parts there are brakes to bring a train to a complete stop in case the block/zone ahead of it is occupied by another train.
There are also sensors along the track to let the computer system know where the train is. As long as the immediate block/zone ahead of the train is clear, the train can continue its journey. If it is occupied, the train will hit a set of brakes (block brakes) that will hold the train until the next block/zone is clear. That's why...on some days the trains sit longer at launch than others.
Depending on the number of trains running and where they are on the course may increase the time spent on the brakes before launch. Also every once in a while the brakes up before the final helix area will catch a train due to too many trains in the station and brake zone down below.
Has anyone ridden this yet? I’m curious, did they slow this roller coaster down? It seems from this video like it’s slower. That would suck.
This event will be a perfect thing for California Adventure. Here’s why:
1.Disneyland resort only has one Area themed to a Pixar Movie (Cars)
2. This new fest connect awesomely with the rest of the park because Cars is from Pixar and they have a cars themed area
They had A Bugs Land until recently where they shut it down in favor of shoehorning er I mean "featuring" a new land to Marvel IP.
The original concept behind DCA 2.0 was actually trying to have the whole park have a story and be cohesive. It was California during Walt's time. Just because Cars is there doesn't mean they needed more Pixar. A pier full of Pixar IP actually adds nothing to that story.
This ride is awesome
my only problem is with the launch they should have had the countdown synced up with the launch to make it feel like dash is running with the coaster launching or had the countdown and have tie water effects go off to make it look like dash took off cause right now they have the countdown and then dash running on water then the launch happens hopefully they can fix that it should not be to hard

I expected more from this ride, since I live in Miami I usually go to Disney World and it is amazing. The planning, the set ups, everything is just great. When I went to go look up rides in California I expected something great since this was the original Disney. I was wrong. I usually have very high expectations for Disney since Disney World does such a good job but I am not impressed with this. I would not fly 6 hours just to ride that. It looks like a fun ride but it looks like everything was put on a budget. I am NOT going here anytime soon.

For everyone saying it's awful, keep in mind they didn't have a lot of time, and they still had a whole area to undergo construction. Before the ride was even transformed, it didn't have a theme at all, at least it has one now.
Mission Breakout was rethemed in a similar amount of time, and that looks _much_ better than this.
So if they didn't have a lot of time, they should've taken more time and done it right. Instead you get this rushed product that smacks of cheapness.
The fact that people fail to realize Screamin was a steel coaster, themed to represent wooden coasters of the Boardwalk era is kinda sad. No wonder y'all are excited to see light up mannequins in a ride.

i likd the ride but i thing hey could have made a show building enclosing the entire ride so the effects could be usefull and the outside could have like the city on the show building. i like the ride but hey in my opinion he best time to ride the incredicoaster is at night so the figures and effects can stand out more.

A true disney fan doesnt hate on them, but rather formally state what is wrong with it and how it could improve. If you arent a disney fan, what are you even doing here? Seriously, they are busy. They are working on 3 massive cruise ships, an entire ‘district’ for a park, a parade to replace the main street electrical parade, and even some artworks and other parades, and you expect them to finish something perfectly that’s simply the least of what they need to get done... Maybe when disney finishes with the stuff, they may go back to this and give it a nice new coat of paint and maybe a slight scenery change. Disney imagineers shouldn’t be ashamed of themselves. You should for pretending to be a Disney fan and then be rude about something that just came out and also a small project compared to what other things they are working on at the same time.

They need to at least have animated faces in the tubes. I understand why you can't do full fledged animatronics but animated faces with some audio in the scream tube itself is very easy to do.
Also Edna should have been animatronic at least...
As we all wanted this ride to be better than this and i can agree with that , but we got to think of the imagineers point of view since this is an old ride and not done from scratch as a new attraction i'm sure it will need more time than 6 months to make it look amazing... most of the comments want it animated somehow as from what i have seen all must be in the dark to make it look amazing and magical that tunnel won't work because of the sunlight entering the tunnel (maybe??) or because the tunnel is just there and nothing can be animated either way its better than before you got to admit xD

I think overall it's a good ride, but I understand why people feel disappointed and underwhelmed by this. For example, when it's going through all of the tubes, specifically the 2nd one, it's literally just figurines attached to the black tunnel, and feels extremely cheap. Also, all of the Jack Jacks on the sticks looks stupid. The ride feels cheap and coming from Disney, I was expecting this to be so much better. But yeah, it still looks fun, but it just doesn't fit well into a Disney park.
