I had the Phillips version of this machine for well over ten years (exactly the same machine inside and out, with a few cosmetic tweaks). The Phillips Saeco has performed exceptionally for well over a decade, and it is used multiple times every day. The centre knob on the Saeco has become loose and a little troublesome to turn (they have changed the design in the Gaggia) and the steam was getting weak, so I thought I would replace it. I was really happy to see that I could buy the Gaggia version of the same machine. I swear by this machine! I do take care of my machines - I only use filtered water in it, and descale once a month when it tells me to, I rinse out the machinery as directed in the manual about once every couple of weeks, and grease the channels once every six months. It has lasted somewhere between 10-15 years! In fact, I will be handing the old one down to my son. I only use medium roast espresso beans - no overly oily or flavoured. I set the grind to one notch before the finest grind and to the strongest brew - three beans on the front. I use Kicking Horse 'Cliffhanger' whole beans. I make a 'two shot' cappuccino with whole milk. Although I have only had the Gaggia version of this machine for a couple of days, it produces the same consistent great coffee as my old one. Of course, I guess something could go wrong, but given my experience with this machine, I doubt it. And yes, you will get water in the tray . . . its italian! For the price, you really can't go wrong.
I've had this model for about two months and it does make great coffee. But I think I have a problem with the rinse cycle, both at startup and shutdown. Instead of dispensing the rinse water through the nozzle, it goes directly into the drip pan. The same thing happens when descaling. The initial phase call for water to dispense through the nozzle, but instead it goes into the drip tray. I've contacted my vendor to find a solution.
Yep, and eventually, it will also dispense your coffee into the tray instead of out of the spouts. This is my 2nd Brera and both have/had the same quirk. Just play with the knob a bit to hit the sweet spot that gets it to dispense properly again.

I have had this machine for approximately 3 weeks. The first 2 weeks I was able to use it and the machine was wonderful. Now all of a sudden when I try to brew coffee spurts out on each side of the coffee ground container. What is the solution to this problem, I have changed coffee grinds several times, using the same grounds I used originally and then changing to other grinds when it started doing this. Can you explain to what I should try. I have watched the video and am doing as instructed.
Remove and clean the brew group, particularly the shower screen-that's the small round perforated metal disc. It sounds like yours is blocked and the coffee has nowhere to go. Also try a coarser grind, to prevent this in the future. ruclips.net/video/HGmfnGN_JQA/видео.html

We had a very poor experience with this machine. A poor design for cleaning, coffee grounds go everywhere inside and water keeps dripping out. Going back to Breville after a very disappointing 2 years trying to make it work.
