For users in/after august 2020: I have now myself followed this tutorial, but the process is vastly different from the day it was released. I have looked and (I) cannot find the commands to copy paste, so I had to type them manually (not a big problem), but the thing is, it kept on not working, (European server, and I tried both). I messed around with different things, but the thing that fixed it, was to pick the Phoenix miner instead. If you download the newest version off that, you do not have to type commands (except for your address, of course), and you can just edit the start.bat file, took me 10s and I was going. Then I ran into another problem, and tried to fix it, but the conclusion is that you cannot use an nvidia card with only 4gb of VRAM (I use 1050ti 4gb), the dag file is too large. my batch file shuts down instantly, no idea why. I don't have any anti virus enabled. when I run the bat (even as admin) the folder just flickers for a split second, then nothing else. Nothing running in the background or anything. I'm using the phoenix Miner since Claymore is no longer available.

There is no threshold, you can stop mining whenever you want, the work you have done will be stored as an unpaid balance on the pool website and when you continue to mine later on it will add to that balance.
The transactions aren't how people are making money off of it, that creates a very bad situation with the actual currency. The mining is allowing for more complicated computations to over shoot the ease of calculations that would allow for robust busting of encryption. The more encrypted bits, the more secure the transactions occur. It's also centralized based upon its algorithms being used, which are hidden from even the miners so that the security is exponentially growing. Hashes have been being used since the advent of currency serial numbering and the security from cryptographic-currency comes from it's ability to use trillions of "molecules" instead of a set number of actual molecules. BTW graphics cards aren't the main part of the "graphics" portion in the crypto portion of cryptographics.

make sure the batchfile folder is in windows system environment path variable, idk if this is the issue tho

some scripts in miners are detected as viruses which is a false positive as long as you download from a trustable source

4444 is the port number your computer will use, so make sure you have that port open. Just a heads up if you guys run-in into an issue.

You can use any wallet you choose, as long as you place the correct address in the batch file. ie 0x12345etc
