Hey Dirt Slinger, I loved the long video, I makes you realize the highs and lows a bottle digger goes through. You had to work hard for every bottle you dug up. Your crock is sweet I like that it is unique with the turkey dropping on it. The x on it has to be some kind of marking, at least that's what I think. How long will you continue digging into the year ? Do you have any more privies lined up to dig? Have you dug in Louisiana? Why are you interested in digging a hutch from there? I hope all is well with you, take care. Also I like your sense of humor.
Hi Debra, always good to hear from you! I live in Louisiana Missouri, which is why I'm always on the hunt for anything local. I usually dig right up to the first hard freeze. I have six pre-civil war sites and can't find a privy on even one of them! Been a frustrating season for sure! Still poking holes and scaring worms!
Congrats on that amazing Scott's! I have dug a few of those in my days but nothing like that splendid example! To bad you didn't dig the cobalt iron pontiled variant. I thought Those Sozadont bottles only came in the wedge shape but maybe I am wrong. I am wondering when you are going to dig Mark Twain's house there on Hill Street?
I'm afraid the arkies already dug the Mark Twain boyhood home but I did get to poke around the Becky Thatcher home across the street after they packed it in and I scraped up a few bottles from the 1850's along an old rock wall. I'll be piecing together a video of that dig soon...
Took me ten years off and on hunting for the privy where I dug the green Ravenna flask! Success goes to the persistent for sure! Keep hunting and you will find something if only getting you off the couch! That's my mantra....
That jug you unearthed is sweet Thanks for sharing 👍♥️⚒️🇺🇸
Love the jug! And your videos. Thanks!
Thank you for your kind support!
You live in a nice spot/nice home.Looks peaceful
Looks can be deceiving....for real!

Bet that lot had a good amount of fill brought in and covered the priveys
Indeed it did! A hardpack gravel parking lot covers a couple prime privy areas! One is pontil age for certain!

I had a crude five gallon salt glaze jug with those dark drips. I call it tobbaco spit. No name or decorations but I got 125 for that big spotted jug
Sweet!
