i highly recommend the caron cotton cake! i didn’t find it splitty at all, and it feels nice since it has a little more stretch than pure cotton, but is less sweaty than pure acrylic.
when i’m looking for a classic weight 4 acrylic, i usually go for big twist value as my preferred one. i’ve tried caron jumbo which i found pretty comparable to RHSS, but i have yet to try caron simply soft. it kind of weirds me out when yarn is too slippery while i’m working with it lmao

If I have slippery yarn, I use a plastic hook.....the plastic holds on to the yarn better than metal.

Whats cool about Caron simply soft is color dont change. Need a color after a couple years the tone doesnt change. It does split. Easier to knit than crochet. Its nice and soft to the skin. One of my favorites cause color dont change. Like red heart
