    Amazing choices. I also wish I had omitted the American history book we have never used it.

    Excellent choices! I think I’ve found the YT’er who aligns most closely to my own curriculum choices 🎉 I’d love to see a mid-year and end of the year review on these 😊

    This was awesome! I've referenced it a couple times already, especially because we're also doing the Early American BF intermediate study, and I think the geography one as well. I'd also love to see how you plan your weekly schedule to fit it all in!

    I really enjoyed your video. Makes me realize that I haven’t been doing a writing program for my daughter and she’s starting third grade as well and so that was really some great information that I can look into some of those writing programs and then also I would love to see more about the yellow dots son, American art history or whatever that was because I’m doing beautiful feet books as well and we really love art and it sounds like a great tie in but I’m not familiar with that. Also, I’m really thankful that you mention Williams this all because I think I’ve been peeing for like two years and we still haven’t used it and I know we would love it for nature study, which is our passion so if you have any videos on that I would love to see it and meanwhile I need to figure out. How is it going with that? I don’t know if you have any recommendations of how often you do it or anything like that. Thanks for being so inspiring.

      Thanks so much, Jody! I write Lily & Thistle down in my planner once a week so we make sure to get to it. Yellow Spot Sun (link in the description of this video) is an online drawing course. I use it once a week as well.

    Do you do the orange book, fix it grammar and IEW all on the same day? Would love to see how you go about doing it. Since the lessons seem short.
    Also does fix it grammar line up with whatever grammar the orange book was doing ?
    Also for IEW do you suggest starting primary art of language and Bible hero even though we will begin in third grade? Instead of the structure style.

    • @juiceboxhomeschool
      @juiceboxhomeschool  Месяц назад

      Hi! We do Fix it Grammar 4x a week (it takes maybe 10 min), LLATL 4 days a week (maybe 20 min), and IEW depends on how long it takes to complete the weekly assignment (usually 3x/week).
      If your child has a good grasp on writing already, I would say you can start IEW SSS1-A, but normally, I would suggest starting that in 4th grade. Bible Heroes or People and Places are fun in 3rd grade too!

    Hi Trisha! Thanks for all your recommendations. I'd be interested in what a weekly schedule looks like for your family. How often do you do each subject weekly?

    Im so glad I found your channel! I also have a 3rd, 6th, and 9th grader for 2023-2024, so I watched all 3 videos! I heard you mention online instruction for IEW SS in your 6th grade video- who do you use? Will your 3rd grader also use an online class? Have you gone through the instructor training?

    • @juiceboxhomeschool
      @juiceboxhomeschool  Год назад +1

      I use the online classes through IEW. It's listed on their website! I have not purchased the teacher training materials, but have used IEW from the beginning so I naturally became very familiar with the program. =)

    Thank you for this video! Do you feel that BFB curriculum is too much reading? I know it’s a literature based curriculum, I’m just concerned that I’ll burn my kids out with it. I have an upcoming 4th and 6th grader.

    • @juiceboxhomeschool
      @juiceboxhomeschool  Год назад +1

      It's subjective, but my kids and I have built up a decent read aloud stamina so it is just right for us. I don't always follow the guide's suggestions for how many chapters/pages to read each lesson. We schedule reading based on our own personal schedule and what feels like the right amount for that week. Thank you!

    • @LearningPlantingGrowing
      @LearningPlantingGrowing Год назад

      @@juiceboxhomeschool I agree, read aloud is definite a muscle to build. We use Sonlight and my kids beg to read a week in a day and they also hang around for other age levels to hear books meant for siblings. Then they listen to audio books and read in their spare time. They do not get burned out but I think that has to be worked on with patience and the books have to be interesting. 😊 It did hit me this year that I used to sit my kids down for a 2 hour movie but feel like I was tiring them by reading for very long. I have completely let go of that limitation.

    • @juiceboxhomeschool
      @juiceboxhomeschool  Год назад

      @@LearningPlantingGrowing Yes! It's something that can be built up for sure. So, that's why it feels like such a varying and subjective question!
