Plus, I really really doubt the Beatles sounded anything like this, in 1960! They've kind of played it like punk music, but bands back then really didn't play like that. The real Beatles perfomances in Hamburg would have been a lot slower, more rock and roll, and a lot more professional
CJ Mooney the real Beatles actually were not professional at all back in the cavern and bars. They actually acted like this on stage, but they obviously didn't sing like this at all, but they did cuss, hit each other, eat on stage, and rock out. It was Brian Epstein who made them professional on stage. Its a very interesting fact
This film shows that the Beatles had very humble beginnings working as a warm up act in a German strip club. Who would have believed back then that just three years later they would be packing out giant stadiums to tens of thousands of screaming fans.
Master rocker legend Little Richard performed in Germany at the Star Club (many American rockers toured there) and he gave Paul a private lesson in how to sing this song. And clearly, Paul was a good student.

They should really have given this song to Paul McCartney in the movie. He did the Beatles version of the song and it was awesome. If you watch the movie you wonder why John Lennon would bother with Paul McCartney - They truth was that Paul McCartney also was Rock n' Roll. You had to be Rock n' Roll to be in The Beatles.
I can see why Macca disagreed with this scene. Long Tall Sally was one of his trump cards, and even if I doubt Lenny would be unable to pull it off just as good it's wrong not to have Paul do it when it was a Paul-song (when sung by the Beatles)
What an unrealistic interpretation of the Beatles on stage at that point in their career. It's put me right off the prospect of watching the film Just for startes, the guitars are completely wrong, and Paul should be singing. For genuine immersion into the Beatles in Hamburg, read the time travel book available from Amazon, 'Many years' til now'.
If Pete and Stu really played like Dave Grohl and Mike Mills, Beatles history would have been a lot different.
