No they are not pretty much the same. The 767-300 can carry 350 PAX in a single class configuration and has a range of close to 6000 miles. The 737-900 can carry 215 PAX in a single class config and has a max range of 2700 miles or 3200 miles with AUX tanks. So you can see they are very different.
wow, what are you talking about !!!!!!!!!!!!??????????? 737-900 is actualy mid-range passenger jet and 767 is long range medium capacity jet. Diference is in some 50 to 60 passengers and in 5 000 kilometers

It's really too bad it's all about money, and the executives for united and continental knew that the stock holders would never pass up a deal to more than double their stalks, so nobody stood up to them and said to at least keep the United airlines livery, I would be 125% happier if they merged and just consumed continental and let Jeff Smisek run it. And kept everything United. Their 737's would look good in United livery :D
