I remember watching Torbjörn get schooled by his father in the early eighties, then I got out of touch with this wonderful sport. Thank you youtube and all carom-fans for bringing it back to me.

@scottysmith3 You have to hit both other balls, but your cue ball (white ball for one player, yellow ball for the other one) has to hit at least three cushions before hitting the second ball. You play until you fail, every successful shot gives you a point.

It depends on the tourney format. Sometimes they play x number of innings. Usually it is a race to 50 points. Sometimes it is handicapped.

I would like to point out that a good player like Blomdahl isn't just looking on how to make the carom, but he is also trying to place the balls so he gets a good position for the next shot.

@lethal337337 actually pool, snooker, carom and all others are forms of billiards.

@ToothyGus In the end, each discipline has its own requirements. 3c takes completely different skills than playing snooker or 8/9/10 ball. I don't think you can even compare that. F. ex. the logic of playing safe in 9ball, straight pool and 1p is *completely* different, but an important element in each one.

no, he is the yellow cue ball. he can hit either red or white first though.

yes, but once you learn some shots and angles, it REALLY helps your other games.

I swear I've tried that shot at 3:35 a hundred times and I can't get the 4th rail to shorten up like he does. The cloth I play on is kinda worn, but I dunno, I think its my stroke.

@ToothyGus Why's that even important? I'm a pool player, I play 8b, 9b, 10b and straight pool. I also love 3c and am a fan of snooker and recently discovered 1p, which is also pretty hard. For me, every single discipline has itts benefits and its disadvantages. I really don't understand why for some people it's that important to call one better or more complicated than the other. Does their ego really need that push? If so, better don't play billiards at all.

Oh come on - you must hit at least three cushions before completing the carom, i.e. hitting third ball.
