Really hate when characters say the Dragon took her away and no one corrects them. She wasn't a prisoner. She could have come back at any time and chose not to. She literally says in the movie that if she had known Hiccup was like her, she would have taken him with her. Implying she could have gone back but would not stay.
From the looks of the timeline he could be going along with that and they didn’t know that yet

@@darriongeorge5137 Yes it took her but she was not held captive. She could have come back at any moment. She chose not to because she believed Berk to be the same dragon killing village it had always been. But she still abandoned Hiccup. She could have come back and chose not to, nothing was holding her back except herself. That is on her.
@trans_panda right. I agree with the fact that she wasn't a prisoner and could've gone back, but what I'm saying is she indeed was taken against her will, she never asked cloudjumoer to take her but yes she could've still come back

Runaway Hiccup AU explained:
Everything goes the same up until when Hiccup is announced as the winner of the dragon training. Hiccup is told he has to kill the monstrous nightmare, so in the first movie when Hiccup says to Toothless we’re going on a trip.. forever or whatever he said he does actually leave. Astrid finds him but this time Hiccup doesn’t try to stop her. Instead he just takes to the sky, Astrid runs back to Berk and tells everything she saw. In this AU they don’t know what a night fury looks like btw. So Astrid wasn’t able to name the dragon when she was telling everyone. At Berk all the Vikings now classify Hiccup as a traitor and outcast. Since they never found out about the Red Death it kept gaining power, dragons, and land. So it started taking down every village in the Archipelago with Berk being one of the last standing. Hiccup is at Valka’s sanctuary since he found her earlier on. (Btw the timeline is right when the second movie is supposed to start)
Character Descriptions:
Astrid: She is obsessed with war and killing dragons since her whole family got killed by them. She absolutely hates Hiccup.
Snotlout: Since Hiccup was next for chief role, Snotlout becomes the new heir of chief. Snotlout still has a crush on Astrid but doesn’t try to get her attention like in the first movie.
Fishlegs: Fishlegs has the same personality but has gotten better at fighting, he still loves to study dragons in his free time(he doesn’t have much) and he’s very close to finding out that Toothless is a night fury.
Tuffnut and Ruffnut: Since the wars with dragons has increased a lot they don’t have time to play game and pranks on people. In their free time they just go into the woods which almost always ends in a disaster. They are close to becoming Berks next outcasts.
Stoick: Stoick did not react good to the news Astrid brought to Berk, so to show is strength he slaughtered every single dragon in the arena. He hasn’t talked about Hiccup ever since he betrayed them, and he punishes every person that says his name when he’s around.
I know this is a lot but if you have the time I would love to see this! Ofc if not that’s completely understandable. ❤️
