In the two-story house - an hacienda today was rather quiet, joyless, and empty. Everything looked as if time had ceased to exist here altogether. It had been like this for about three weeks now. Three weeks ago - on the first of August, a young man named Agustin Fabien, twenty-six years old, went missing. There was absolutely nothing left: no clues, no traces. It seemed there were no chances of finding him. This man had a mother and a sister who couldn't seem to recover from what had happened.
Priscilla Fabien, twenty-four years old, sat in the living room, staring blankly into space. The clock on the wall ticked away the seconds peacefully, its insistent sound piercing her ears. Priscilla had already cried all her tears. Now she only felt immense emptiness. It was as if a part of her soul had disappeared with her brother.

The character descriptions in this novel were well-developed and fascinating, which made it incredibly captivating. Finding out that your supposed friends-who you believe are there to console you-are actually the ones responsible for the evil that has befallen you is extremely difficult, especially in real life. The author ought to have revealed Precilla's malevolent opponents' fate. Trying to figure out what happened to her brother was a really captivating experience.

This story was very compelling, with interesting and well honed descriptions of the characters. It is so difficult, even in real life, to find that so-called friends, who are there, you think, to comfort you, are the ones behind the evil that has befallen you. The writer should have told of the demise of Precilla's evil adversaries. It was very intriguing, trying to figure out what happened to her brother.
