So speaking in general, up to what position am I supposed to push the string down? I realized that the higher i go, the more painful it can be for my fingers, which now have markings. Also, as I play in a high position, for some reason i feel like my bow ends up bouncing and touching other strings. But it's happening on high position not in the lower ones. What would you advise?
The level of left finger pressure depends on your current bow weight/speed ( for specific dynamics) as well as your violin set up with the actions ( the distance between the string and the fingerboard). However I can give you general technical guidance you can apply in your practice. Here are some videos in that regard, I hope these would be helpful to you. Hello miss Joy! I was wondering whether you could make a video on chromatic glissandi? Like the passages you can come across throught Sarasate's Zigeunerweisen. Your explanations are the best! Best regards!
