Akin Thomas fighting changed the whole game for the better , Fiala was beyond incredible! Kuemper was amazing ! I was so pissed with the first 6 minutes of the 3rd ! I mean they almost threw it all away by getting out worked ! I’m still kinda upset about it . That’s how they lost 4 sitting back defensively.

Early in the third Carolina was a team possessed. The Kings were lucky to weather the storm.

It felt like even with the first goal the kings didn’t have much jump but after the Moore goal they got back to being the kings of earlier this year

Kings 5 minutes into the 3rd had held Carolina to 17 shots..
Carolina did finally push hard to get chances and they are a really solid team. Especially at home. They are certainly capable of lighting you up if you aren't sharp.
I think LA frustrated them most of the game.
Fiala was really dangerous. Not just on the goals he scored, but all night long.

Spence had more minutes than Clarke, but Clarke was a lot more polerized. He had a few gaffs, but he had some really great moments as well.
By stark contrast Spence wasn't as dynamic or stood out as much as Clarke did, but was incredibly steady.
Clarke's skill should be encouraged. It is his rookie season. Get those gaffs out of the way now and harness that skill. The gaffs will get further and further apart.
Spence is a cerebral player and i suspect once his game rounds out he might not make noise Clarke makes, but he will be incredibly stable in all 3 zones.

Thought spence started slow but started playing solid in December and a few weeks ago. Last 2 games he’s gotten toasted 1 on 1 a couple times which resulted in goals/turned the puck over a fair bit as well. I remember earlier in the season vs SJS and COL people slipping behind him for breakaway goals. I think if he rounds out his game, and gets his defensive coverage and awareness a little bit better he’s solid.

@emptonik2437 this was Carolina and Florida right? You do realize those are 2 exceptionally deep teams that can light up the lamp on any given night.
Was he beaten by scrubs or by their top offensive players?
Do you expect the same results regardless of the quality of competition? Not all 23 year olds have it all figured out after 1 full season and a half.

I am happy those Kings won! I hope they can improve at least enough to where many other fans can stop badmouthing my All-Time Hockey Hero Rob Blake. I am devoted to him & dedicated to him even to this day. And I still believe in him. And I know he can help get those Kings to be better. It no doubt was a bummer those Kings could not go any further in the Playoffs last year! But that doesn’t always mean it will always be that way! That was last year. And no matter who you support. That vary team will not always have a great season or a terrible season. Sometimes they will do good! Sometimes they won’t! But even on years they don’t! They can still be happy to still have fans like us who believe in them. I only am saying those things because I care about the Kings & my All-Time Hockey Hero Rob Blake.

I don't mind him, but that PLD trade was an absolute bomb. We shall see this year where we are headed.

I don't get it.....getting shut out by Florida and Tampa, to scoring 4 almost 5 good on Kevin Fiala, finally doing good and he almost had a hatrick at times....but Moore scored which is good they actually played like they wanted too win.....Carolina is a good team 25-1 @ home ...Wow they beat a good hometeam

Happy days are here again. First of all, as I requested months ago - PLEASE STOP THE GOOD KEVIN BAD KEVIN nonsense. There is only good Kevin. He and “Juice” are as close as we’re going to get to having a sniper, until Blake does his job and gets us a real one. Finally - Thank God for Garvikov - Right now, our best defensman.

Good takes. Agreed. I love Gavy too--usually rep his sweater at games. Don't understand why people are so eager to dispense with him as he has really held down the D zone.

There definitely is a bad Kevin. The one that takes stupid penalties and commits horrendous passes and lack of defense at time. Luckily he hasn’t done this in a while, but it’s definitely part of who he is as a player

The King badly need an elite centre to play on the top line. Move Kopitar to the second with Byfield back on his wing. Danault centering the third line and helenius to the fourth.

Eddie you pointed out it wasn’t there best defensive game , and your correct , however for me that’s %100 why they won ! And had a chance to win ! They got sick of loosing 1-0 and 2-1 playing good d ! Excluding the 3rd period push which they thoroughly out worked , the Kings took risks , came at them ,went to the net etc, and for real the best defense is when your on offense and the other team is playing d !

Yeah, I think they need to find a balance. When their forecheck is aggressive, they tend to win.
