Feels good watching a duel where they don’t take 20 min a turn summoning every single boss card and otking someone
When yugioh was a different beast. This is what I miss
I wish we could go back to these formats. I came back into Yugioh after six years and the ten minute turns are crazy.
Nothing stops you from doing it dude, get some friends who wanna play GOAT and go crazy! Or just play online, lots of people like you out there.
I understand wanting to play this but setting one and passing honestly bothers me i gotta special summon atleast 4 boss monster and set an imperm with 2 hand traps

Dude that duel took me way back holy fck. Started to get back into the game like 3 months ago, feeling you‘re doing the right content for that purpose. Commentary full of motivation and love for the game, i enjoyed.

The commentary is the best part of these videos, makes it way easier to follow, especially since its been a while since I've played. Without commentary it would be far less entertaining. But in person it's fun without commentary.

Would it be possible to do a duelingbook decklist if each deck before the duel?
I think it’d be cooler after the duel if at all so we aren’t spoiled to any of the secret techs or what not
Tj missed the timing for threatening roar. It has to be activated prior to declaration. It doesn’t negate an attack it stops your opponent from being able to declare their attacks. Once your opponent declares an attack it misses timing it has to happen before declaration.

I used to run a straight up beastdown back in 2004-2005. Such a fun deck.
When Thousand-Eyes Restrict absorbs a monster, all equips are destroyed. Equips can't be equipped to an Equip card. Ditto for monster effect text; it's no longer a monster, so its card effect doesn't apply (unless it read something like "if this card is in your Spell/Trap Card Zone").
Spoiler alert: TJ never wins on this channel.

Agree. I love the hype of usual. But the calm, clear concise announcing is also very nice for such a duel. If a lot needs to be said, say it fast! But this was amazing.

Love goat and the video! Love all the cards you add in so I can read the effects! Couple notes though!
1. For pre mature burial, if the monster leaves the monster zone, the equip instantly is destroyed (yes destroyed) I had this issue when I versed standard noble knights and I took his monster with thousands eyes.
2. Also when you used tribe infecting virus to pop his thousand eyes, he could’ve used the effect to just remove the equipped monster instead, saving the thousand eyes for next turn even, because monsters also can’t attack into it.
Just my thoughts, loved the video though. Can’t wait for more to come!
Monsters equipped to Thousand-Eyes Restrict only protect it from being destroyed by battle.

At 15:47, I think if Tsukuyomi is the only monster on field, she has to flip herself facedown because the effect is mandatory.

See now these games are interesting. No OTKs really, just good back and forths. This format was way better than the current format tbh.
There are OTKs and FTKs, but they're less consistent and not played as much.

Huge misplay with the tribe discarding lighting and not pushing for bigger damage that dragged the game out 6 turns longer then needed

Technically yes, though they were playing with a lot of amnesty to their opponent since they're friends. Like "Yeah he probably would have activated it first"

Almost everyone plays without Exarion. If you play at locals though, just go with what they do.
@@NecromancyForKids for sure, my friends and I use it. I keep a playset of Enraged Battle Ox in my deck box for Zoo Beatdown in case I play someone who doesn't want to use it.
@AntiBasketballAmerican I meant Exarion Universe. There's a debate about using that card in Goat Format because it technically was available for about 2 weeks before the format ended. The reason it's controversial is because it's stats and effect make it really op against most standard Goat decks.

Didn't look like it. Usually people don't bother deck verifying in Goat, but they should have shuffled anyway since they checked their own decks.

Honestly some of the worst ygo playing I've ever seen. Always nice to see that GOAT format does in fact take actual skill. Was nice to see my favourite deck of the format (relinquished) being played though, even if it was a very bad build of it.

@@NecromancyForKids I you check at 4:11 with .25% speed, you can see for a moment around 4:12-4:13 two upper left corners, and then he draws another card after, making it 3 cards.
The technique of drawing 2 cards instead of one, in illusionism, is called double-lift, and is supposed to be unnoticeable.
I'm not sure if that really happened at this point but the image is very convincing. I just want to believe that the player was distracted in the moment and made a mistake unknowingly.
Whats goat formay
Goat Format had a different ruling with how "flipping face-down" works. You can't flip a Card the same turn it got face-down when it changes the position. The Battle Ox was in Attack Position, got in face-down defense with Book of Moon. You can't flip it right back this turn. If the Ox was in defense position, got face down with Book of Moon / Tsukuyomi you can flip it immediatly.
Same with Relinquished and TER + Tsukuyomi. You have to summon them in Defense Position, suck up a Monster, play Tsukuyomi and then you are allowed to flip TER again.
Many people get it wrong, google TER + tsukuyomi goat format and you'll see.
Just want to throw this out there for anyone reading this that this is wrong, it was like this but changed in June of 2005, well before cybernetic revolution where goat is played up to. You can flip TER with tsuk and then flip summon on the same turn.
