"Watching the Porsche brake for corners that the Miata is accelerating thru is really enjoyable...sometimes 'slow car fast' really is better than 'fast car slow" - an inane, misapplied comment - that isn't the case with this 911! Its cornering ability is far above the MX-5, it's how its being driven in this video!
I would guess its the first lap for the Porsche driver, cause it looks like it by the way he is braking, like he is unsure where the track goes, I think the MX-5 nurburgring time is around 8m30sec, and the Porsche is 1 minute faster, or even faster.. not sure which model of 911 GT3 that is. (But the video is just for fun, not a race :) and I am sure the MX-5 puts a bigger smile on your face than the 911)
The Porsche has to brake, that’s what so many fail to realize. He’s heavy and grip limited. The Nurburgring will let even a 911 know what a hefty b!tch it is. But it will reward a well driven Miata.
That Porsche is going terribly slow, why doesn't it let you overtake? Sure, it's faster in the straights (like most powerful cars) but the MX-5 always catches up in the corners.

This wasn't GT3 RS vs MX-5, what it was, was driver who bought over his head vs driver who knows the road and the car. It seems like the RS driver knew the track well enough, so was limited by skill.
