    Well-done, guys! I ran into these lovely videos via random googling but subscribed immediately. As an English teacher myself, this is really something I've been looking for. Genuine and authentic English, updated to as close as possible to the current time. Really appreciate your great work! Cheers!

    It would be great if you subtitled the phrases you are explaining. (Not the whole video, only the terms). For a not native English speaker it’s a lot easier to remember a new word/ phrase after you have heard AND read it than to remember it after you only heard it. Thanks for you videos, always just as funny as informative! Keep them coming!

      I love the style of your videos as well! I studied Spanish in college and it really sparked an interest for me in language differences and specifically how interesting accents and dialects are depending on regions. I found your channel by accident and I’m glad I did! It makes me want to go back to school and study linguistics.

    I'm plugging you guys tomorrow as I'm doing a talk to 200 spanish teenagers in Spain and planning to show them a couple of your videos haha. I think your videos could really help them with their language learning and general knowledge of the UK. Thanks for making great videos! Hopefully they understand it hahahaa!

    I just heard about your channel today via your joint efforts with Gary C and so far I've only watched a couple of your videos and find them very interesting and amusing. I did notice one funny thing in this video however, in fact a bit of a malapropism - one of you used the word "ravishing" when I suspect the word you probably should have used is "ravenous" to indicate extreme hunger, during the segment on "peckish"; "ravishing" obviously has a quite different meaning and doubt if that's what you truly wished to say.
    Usually when I start watching a new channel I watch some of the more recent videos, before working my way backwards gradually when time permits, so I'm looking forward to delving in a little more.

    • @ThoseTwoBrits1
      @ThoseTwoBrits1  7 лет назад

      Yes! I noticed that when we were editing! A combination between "ravenous" and "famished"! Thanks for coming over Bill, we hope you enjoy our other videos!

    • @ThoseTwoBrits1
      @ThoseTwoBrits1  7 лет назад +1

      Ah yeah! Some British fillers (apart from the classic, um, erm, and ah) are: 'like', 'sort of', 'kind of', 'so', 'okay', 'you know'. Love that they're called parasite words in Russian!

    I'm commenting with my husband acc which was already signed in. Your videos are amazing and really helpful. Could you please make a video about how to greet people of different intimacy I mean do I have to hug or shake hands or kiss? I'm a little confused. I saw a gym mate in the town centre when he said good to see you i thought he wanted to shake hands but I missed that.

      Is it "Skint" and "Peckish"?
      For us, I can't think of an equivalent term for peckish besides "I'm starving or let's grub". Also, skint ir skinned (spelling?) is what we call being "broke"...no immediate cash flow or not enough money to purchase something.

    • @ThoseTwoBrits1
      @ThoseTwoBrits1  7 лет назад +1

      Yep that's it. We should have written them on the screen, but we've written all the phrases in the description. Sorry! Yeah, skint is the same as broke! Some people might use broke over here, but not as much as in the States!

    "trained actors" whose "audience" consists of youtunbe views? That's just sad. Instead of couch surfing making VDOs, tube-on-over to the west end, sneak in some theaters and just "join in the dance troupe for the sinning/dancing numbers. When they ask "who are you", reply "New kids on the dock, understuding."

    "ravishing - that's what Lia is" ==> BZZZZT. No. "Plain" is the word you're seeking. Or maybe "pleasantly non-descript.". Perhaps "not entirely puke-worthy."
