Well, this was certainly NOT expected! What are your thoughts on this trade?
Forward this trade to up trade!
I like it but I want a DE
It's a very Veach trade lol
DEFENSE!!!!!!
This is a great trade I think, not so much for this year though. One offseason with mahomes
I think this is a Win Win, for both teams. I think he's the replacement for Punt returning "Please no more Skyy Moore back there" and give him a handful of plays that he could master.
As somebody who live n New York and have seen him play in person he’s one of the most explosive football players I’ve ever seen and I’m not kidding he just has to stay on the feild
I hope your right
Thanks for the scouting report
Sounds good! Thank you for the info!😊
Did he ever return punts?
Just wondering where he will fit in with the Chiefs. JuJu and MVS & Mecole won't loose time. And who's the odd man out.
Guess we will find out soon.
Bro he played like 2 good games total. Dude had a monster game against the cowboys and people just anoint him. This dude has showed little to nothing. 12 games played on 25 and 4 total starts on his resume.
If it works out it'll be a great addition and if not they didn't give up that much. His draft profile has a lot of positives and he was a first rounder after all.
My thoughts exactly
I was hoping for something on defense
I'm a GIANTS fan and I'm glad we got the picks and he's off the team. It was a fair trade.
Huge trade. Love it. Everybody mentioning he wasn't healthy, I believe giants coaching staff wasn't a fan of him and stashed him to trade. Love it
Andy is really good at fixing what's broke. I think the stern yet chill atmosphere in KC will change his attitude
Why would the Giants keep him off the field when it would only increase his value if they let him play? The Man will probably get injured hailing a cab for his flight to KC
@@pistol27pete he doesn’t fit into their scheme
@@Solonoface42 not sure what scheme you’re talking about about but Toney fit Kafka’s scheme like a glove. Relies on underneath routes getting guys in space and YAC, so you’re completely off about that. They even drafted Wan’Dale Robinson in the 2nd round who has many of the same traits as Toney. The problem isn’t the scheme it’s Toney always being hurt and being a part time football player
@@pistol27pete did you watch the video? Or read any expert opinion? Everyone says he did not fit into the scheme
Wow didn’t even know he was in the rumours but I like this pickup LFG VEACH
Honestly I wanna bring back the entire core next year. I wanna see them all together for a full year
As a Giants fan in upstate NY, you guys got a baller! I mention upstate NY because I'm in Bills country. From the small sample size I saw, he truly is Tyreek Hill Light. Hope Toney helps get you guys past the bills in the AFC Championship this year!
Bro this dude isn't a baller
I like it like you said low risk. I think he'll become interested quickly catching passes from Mahomes. Reid does a good job at welcoming in troubled players
Well not giving up to much for a player with ⬆️ side, and could fit well with the rest of the wideouts🙌🏾
YES!!!! I wanted them to take him in the draft so bad! I hope he works out for KC!!
How was his injury history in college?
This is incredibly awesome. It is a low-risk high reward situation. If Mahomes and Reid can get him straight, he will be a steal! I like it very much!
Idk if i like it or dislike it yet.. too early to tell. Typically Brett Veach and company do a good job in drafting guys from in the 3rd rd. So i am a little disappointed in that. I am sure they will train him to be use as PR eventually maybe and as backup plans for WR next season. Their first priority is keeping him healthy and ready to go.
the third round was a free pick bc they lost ryan pace to the gm job. they still have another 3rd rounder im pretty sure
I think this pick is all about returning punts. “Truly rare ability in the open field” say Matt Harmon. That’s gotta be it.
I was wondering about that when I heard of this trade.
Smart analysis!
Yeah the mistakes on special teams have been threatening to derail us so makes sense to turn a weakness in a strength
agree 100% sky is out as a punt returner to big of a liability back there
New York sports media/social media was too much for the kid… as a giants fan, I can confidently say that I know he’s gonna be a star with the cheifs. I know he wasn’t playing much for us, but it still sucks for giants fans man, just knowing we gave all that unused talent away….but y’all got an insanely talented player. Seriously, and it’s not just “potential”. Every game this kid stepped on the field he was a star. The kid is special as long as his attitude is in check! And also, he’s never really had “ injury problems”, or atleast this season…I’m almost positive the giants have sat him out due to lack of commitment to the giants organization. Or you can just say he’s “unmotivated”. The giants did the same thing with Kenny golladay who the giants have also sat out the last several months due to lack of commitment to the team… toney is also an aspiring rapper on the side, has promoted his new albums during Sunday day giants games while he was “injured” and wasn’t playing, and in general just hasn’t really been committed to the giants at all. So that’s pretty much why the giants got rid of him. Most of the injury reports on him as of recent are false. He’s been completely healthy the past few months and I guarantee you he’ll be playing for you guys in 2-3 weeks and dropping 100 receiving yards his 1st game lol. Anyway, sorry for the paragraph, just wanted to give y’all chiefs fans a giants fan’s perspective, he’s really, really good to say the least, as long as he doesn’t show the same red flags he has shown in New York.
Thanks man has a Chiefs fan I am a bit worried simply because I know next to nothing about the kid just that he constantly gets injured and has a poor work ethic but if you say he's great I'll take your word for it.
@@matthewcrispinwordofGod for sure, you guys got a gem. As long as he’s on the field, I can guarantee you he’s one of the most talent/if not the single most talented receivers in the nfl. Enjoy man, it’s gonna be fun watching him. Reminds me of a slightly slower but shiftier version on tyreek hill.
@@B-Robby Speaking of teams the Giants are looking pretty solid this year. I know it's still early in the season but I wouldn't mind seeing the Giants make the playoffs. I'm not sure if you'll be able to clinch the division with how aggressive the Eagles and Cowboys look but maybe you guys will be able to sneak in as a wildcard. I also certainly think Brian Daboll should win coach of the year with everything he's done with the organization in the short amount of time he's been there.
The 49ers game clearly proved the offense, especially the WR core is fine
At KCSN, they clarified that it's a compensatory 3rd, not a conditional 3rd, so since compensatory picks are at the end of the round, this is more like a early 4th rounder ... really cheap. :)
You're awesome Cole and thanks for the quick update.
Very happy about this and I hope all the fans welcome him
I’m not mad at this bc we get him for 3 yrs under rookie contract bc the only WRs under contract past this season are Sky and MVS and I believe Juju will be back after this season but I really wanted them to get pass rush
Thanks for the update! Totally surprised by this move because of his history of injuries, but this could pay off big. Now time to pick up a pass rusher!
Isn't he a 2nd year player? Not sure 1.5 seasons is "a history"
@@dt58moe Fair point.
Post this WR trade … we still need to address the OL and the DL sooner than later!
I hope I'm wrong but I'm not very excited about it! I do hope he can come in and take over the punt returning duties! GO CHIEFS!!
I like this for two reasons, mainly JuJu is only on a 1 year deal. Secondly if we have a guy get dinged up we have some insurance. Super cheap trade too considering how many picks we have.
Now the OBJ rumors can flame out.
Will they? Supposedly OBJ wants a $8 million a year multi-year contract, the Chiefs aren't doing that. The Rams did offer him less $1Million for the rest of 2022... OBJ rejected it, the Chiefs might be interested in something like that. A playoff rental at a cheap price.
Welllll…they’ve got terrific training staff, will no doubt speed rehab; plus apparently Veach was interested in him during his draft year 🤷♀️
We’ve got money left for a Dline someone - I’m still waiting for the Panthers to acquiesce
I believe coach Reid knows exactly what he,s doing. Let's roll! How bout them Chiefs !!!!!!!!?
Its a long term move.
This says to me : Hardman will not be back next year
Red beard, what about defense? To win a championship you need a decent defense, rank the bottom five, every category you look overall.
I’ve been refreshing youtube since i got the trade notification waiting for your beard to pop up.
Lets go, lets fricking go
Probably going to be the returner to save sky and Pacheco
Yeah I think so. As soon as this dude learns how to run routes tho.... It's over. KC has effectively sealed their playoff hopes with this trade. Speed is what they lack, so Veach went and got a burner. The common sense involved here is nothing short of beautiful
@@keatonward8556 it’s breath taking. in world where common sense is starting to become more and more rare, seeing common sense is such a breath of fresh air
@@keatonward8556 his route running is already very good. if he can continue to improve and stay on the field he is so good
Saw the news on twitter, hopped on how bout those CHIEFS to see the update from my guy Cole 😬
He is a sky moore replacement for the return game
Went for 80 against the saints & 190 against the Cowboys defense last year 👀
Actually I think this is more about getting someone to takeover PR duties from sky Moore
It’s been a strange start, not necessarily bad though.
Mecole isn’t going anywhere and still has time to shine, this past game was just him warming up. 🛩️
He could very well be going somewhere. Next season lol. This is a move for the future
I was waiting on this video from you! 🔥
K. Toney sounds good. Of course the Chiefs can coach him up. However, I like Micole Hardman and don't want to see him go next season. I hope Micole can stick around.
So we're giving up on Sky Moore handling punts? Ok.
I think it's very clearly a risky trade with very high potential. I agree with all the tweets you showed about him and the trade. I also agree that this means Mecole Hardman is not being resigned after this year unless he takes a serious pay cut to stay in KC. Toney's route tree is very limited. I've watch tape on him and most of his routes are sweeps, screens, and sit routes. Very similar to Hardman. Hardman is going to probably want 10-15m next year and the Chiefs probably don't want to pay him that. Especially since they want to resign, or potentially resign,/ extend some players in the offseason such as Orlando Brown and extending Chris Jones.
Almost all of Toney's injuries are on his right leg, some people think he was faking these injuries because he didn't want to play for the Giants. When I watch him play though he clearly favors using his right leg to make serious jukes that remind me a lot of Dante Hall. So that could be the reason for the injuries. If anyone were to get him motivated and evolve him as a play/route runner it is Andy Reid and Mahomes and company.
This also brings up the question of who on the roster does he replace because he clearly will not be a practice squad guy since he would be poached instantly. I think this means Ronald Jones gets traded away or cut. I think we at best get a 5th rounder for him, most likely a 6th or 7th. This is less likely but I think the Chiefs could also trade away Mecole Hardman. Since he just had a huge 3 TD game that might add more value to him.
I was hoping the Chiefs would trade for a RT or a D-lineman but this trade is potentially a steal. We will see if a 3rd and a 6th were too much but it's a good gamble. I still am hopeful the Chiefs trade for a D-lineman or a RT.
The Chiefs have too many receivers, and the passing game is the best part of Chiefs. The only bad thing about our passing game is that every team knows it’s what we are going to do. This move solidifies that. The run game and the defense is what needs improvements.
If they would quit trying to force feed CEH and give Pacheco and Mckinnon the ball more🙄 our run game might improve!
@@theytrynabecray9699 Pacheco is trash. Dude can't find a hole in the line to save his life. He's had one good return but people forget he barely makes it to the 20 on the majority of his other returns. He practically lost the colts game because his dumbass ran it out of the end zone with .26 sec left and only made it to the 15. Dude is way over hyped.
@@wdubduece8913 I don’t wanna make fun of a disability but are you blind? He has not been bad this season on his extremely limited reps plus he is a rookie. Even Jamaal Charles was limited before he took the job full time as he should of as that dude if injury’s didn’t accumulate would of been the Chiefs all time leading rusher.
I believe they will be utilizing Mecole in a different way as we seen against San Fran.
We have a winning team, the coaches and staff know what they are doing!! 👍
Another offensive weapon for Patrick Mahomes who seems to like it himself according to his Twitter. I thought they would go defense since the pass rush needs help but I’m never against giving Patrick another weapon that he could use to possibly win another SB.
Two years from now, skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney (1st round draft picks) could be quite the tandem for Mahomes.
I'm loving this trade....
In Veach We Trust...
His tweets sounds like he's ready to go and ball out for the Chiefs.
I THOUGHT I WAS PLAYING AROUND THROWING OUT THIS IDEA. LFG Toney is a stud!
KT become an icon after watching one game for my brother and I. Dude got attitude on the field and we loved it. The Giants didn't seem to appreciate his skills and didn't put him in the game, so I hope he gets opportunity here in KC.
Let's Freaking Go!
Honestly we don't need a receiver we need to get another defensive player like Josh Allen (Jacksonville), Roqaun Smith (Chicago), or Bradly Chubb (Denver)
The kids highlights are sic. Hopefully he'll come around for us and buckle down.
I like it. As others have stated we didn't trade away much for this acquisition and if he can stay healthy he can be a big contributor. And don't forget all the hype surrounding Justyn Ross. Yeah, he's still a Chief and hopefully learning the playbook as he gets healthy for next year. And I agree with others that we still need some help at edge rusher. But if this roster is our team going all the way to the Super Bowl, I can live with that.
That boi has moves! Just watched some highlights and he was juking dudes out of their jockstraps lol.
two words: PUNT RETURN
Yup, little two step twirl. LFG
Sky ain't it
Russel Wilson Lets Fly!
I do not wanna get rid of Mecole Hardman he’s a key player for us when he is clicking, but I guess that’s out of my hands, whatever is best for the team hopefully this move works out
He is basically Deebo Samuel. He is electric and was given the reward of most versatile player in college his senior year. I see Hardman taking special teams over Moore and Toney taking more of what Hardman was doing. I believe Toney is a better Hardman who can run wildcat and 2nd running back beside Mahomes in the shotgun... If he stays healthy.
I think this has more to do with Sky Moore's inability to field punts and make an impact. We shall see.
This dude is a game changer. I aM floored they pulled this off. This is gonna be fun
Good on the chiefs snagging on the Bye. Now they can get him adapted and maybe see some action against the titans
Hope he can stay healthy #ChiefsKingdom
Honestly have never heard of this guy before today but 2021 20th overall pick??? Ok ok... I'm listening lol. Maybe the culture of winning in KC, the new teammates (playing with #15), the coaching staff, and just generally relocating to a new part of the country, can give this guy the spark he needs. Now I want to watch some film of him and see what we got! Thanks cole!
He’s really shifty, he had 200 yard game against Dallas last year
@@An3thing ooooh that's intriguing. I'm gonna def see if there is a highlight video of him.
He stood out last year when we played the giants.
Completed a pass on a trick play against us for a first down 😳
At Florida he juked a FSU db so bad the DB tore his ACL.
Dante Hall 2.0
I don't think that the chiefs think they need DE help right now, as much as fans are crying for it. This makes sense when you put yourself in Veache's shoes. It's a low-ish risk/high reward if it works and is really just Veach making a head-start on the next draft.
Cost is low in cap space ($5.2mil over next 3 years) and draft capital (we have 10 picks remaining… a comp 3rd & 6th for a 1st in 2021).
Lot of upside for a little investment, especially given we only have Moore and MVS locked up next year, and Moore hasn’t developed much yet. We also have Justyn Ross on IR that was an undrafted free agent pick up with huge upside if he can get and stay healthy.
As for Toney, last year he had 41 catches with over 10 yards per catch. Great ability to separate and YAC ability is high. Talent is there if Reid and this locker room can clear up his attitude issues and hamstring or other injuries don’t impair his potential. Again lot of upside for a low investment…and with the Kelce cap space adjustment we can still pick up a pass rusher to help shore up that side of the ball, hopefully without too big of a draft hit, but again we have some picks and space for that still.
Been awhile since I tuned in. Good to see you are doing well...
Veach is the frickin man
So a throwback from 1990 Tony Toni tone ( Feels Good )
Toney got great routes very happy
Not too worried about his injuries at all. He just put out a tweet basically alluding to he was faking injuries so he didn’t have to play with the Giants.
We got our punt returner now. Let's go get an Edge rusher now!!!
Punt returner for now. Let Skyy Moore develop as a WR without playing ST and get his confidence back. Insurance for Hardman. Reid and Kafka probably talked about this trade privately.
Well i dont think he going to take Hardmans job he will keep or lose it on his own but the fact is we have only two or three recievers under contract after this year so maybe he can get healthy and turn it around with Reid and Mahomes and do it cheaply for a couple years
He’s still on his rookie deal and in theory can do all hardman could and more.
But - yes you are right. Time will tell
Coke your so prompt with the news!!! Love it!!!
We need defensive help more than offensive help. We really need a pass rusher or LB.
Or a solid lock down corner
I think the line will be ok. It's the secondary I'm worried about
There really isn't anyone at a price point KC can afford that would instantly help
@@keatonward8556 mcduffy's about to come back so that'll help
Oh I totally agree but what they pulled the trigger on was too much to pass up for the price. You know Veach is still cooking and he is not done yet.
I'm more than nervous if the Chiefs want to dump Hardman after this yr. Why get rid of good receiver? I'll eat my hat if Toney provides more than Hardman. I'm still mystified that the Chiefs got rid of Pringle.
In Andy we trust.
Giants fan here I think this trade benefits both sides equally. Fantastic talent that hasn’t worked out to this point for us. Chiefs could really benefit if he’s able to get on the field. Have fun with the joker!
It’s a well-calculated gamble. It’s nice that he is still young and malleable, with extraordinary raw talent. Going from Blue to Red might be all he needs to inspire him to become something great.
I dnt get why we did this..we needed help on the defense side..nd i think mecole is gonna prove himself..he ends up doing good he should take a deal nd stay..no one will use cole like reid!
I say hella good
Did you watch his rookie highlights? I don’t think he is hardman replacement he is just another dangerous weapon and Andy loves to have multiple weapons put him on the field with hardman Ju Ju travis and MVS and Jody wow it’s no Defense for that period!
Filling in for Sky. The hyped was too much for Sky. He not as good as thought
Of all positions...Anything on D side would be great, pass rusher especially.
Maybe they want him for punt returns?
I think you need to lay off Mecole Hardman!! Don't even recognize him for the game he brings!!😲
what are you even talking about lol
Yes
I'm SURPRISED the CHIEFS ORGANIZATION would get someone who has had injuries to be so young. Pleeeese CHIEF GODS let him Work out for us.
Justyn Ross
Giant fan here just stumbled on to your channel.
It's always great to add talent. The biggest need still stands at Dline. I mean winning games if fun but to make SB we are gona need Dline. I'm wondering if Chiefs drafted G.Pickens in that 2rnd like everyone hoped. If Chiefs even discuss this trade
Hardman made history. And he is WR1 and he is fast and great route runner know and good REALSE.
giant fan here he showed up the first day of camp after signing his rookie contract first day with the wrong cleats wore the wrong pair of cleats and was out for weeks and it went downhill from there...good luck
Coach Reid and Mahomes will motivate this boy!! Worth the injury risk fo sho!
I feel that they pulled the trigger on this deal for all the reasons you stated. But I also think this kept Cincinnati from picking him up , since the Bengals just lost their WR to a hip injury..(Ja’Marr Chase)
I love mecole I don't want to see him go
I like the additional firepower, but seems like we need D-line help a lot more. Would rather have added Quinn from the Chicago. shrug...
Brian Burns or Cam Jordan would be nice. And still some draft capital left to maybe get one of them
Even if this doesn’t work out at wide receiver imagine not seeing Sky Moore return punts anymore. This man screams kick/punt returner
For 1 or 2m per year you cannot ask for a better player, honestly I miss Mecole Hardman returning punts/kicks before this trade as he is so fast and shifty
Smart move by the Chiefs since we only have 2 WRs (MVS, Skyy Moore) singed for 2023. Great upside, and if he turns out to be a bust due to injuries, it doesn't cost as much. But I love Mecole and hope they can get something worked out. My favorite players are usually the ones we drafted.
Don't really like this trade. Seen Bart Scott on ESPN comparing him to Tyreek Hill. Didn't everyone say that about Sky Moore. Anyways I don't understand this move.
Tweeked both hamstrings BTW- hurts to see him go because the Giants need Wrs but in a way it is closure and peace of mind for us Giants fans. He makes jaw dropping plays when he plays. Hope the chiefs bring out all that potential in him because if Andy Reid can’t do it no one can.
So...no OBJ then....well shit.
We have a good strength and conditioning program . Could be great for us
hey buddy, long time how have you been. So, you guys got Toney. He a wild mustang and he is untamed.
brass in NY couldn't get a handle on the guy. he must be trained and you got to stay on top of him and he must conform with the program. he might not, and in such case, we know what will happen, no one has time or nonsense. so, otherwise good football player has many tangibles you can improve.
he must stretch, it's ridiculous for WR to have hamstring issues if they stretch the way they are supposed to. Hey, good luck with that guy.
