Used this same video to guide me for my R1. Saved me from being ripped off from a mechanic. All it needed was some WD-40 which is the UKs equivalent for a de greaser.
if you check shops that sell a lot of motocross gear you can find a cable lubing device, it bolts on to the end of the cable tube, and then there's a small hole in the tool where you can put the straw of a wd-40 can or something similar. super easy and you can spray oil in way faster. cheap tool and i've used many a time.
Of course I bought Andrews bike and this problem just happened again and I’ve been trying to find videos to fix it and who but the previous owner of my bike made the fucking video!

try using 556 next time wd 40 is not the best in this case

im not able to get that snap sound when mounting it back and it the metal casings doesnt really snap back perfectly on the handlebars... Any tips?

Just did this and was able to get my throttle to snap again but When closing the throttle /rolling forward ..does the throttle suppose to feel loose ?
Try checking the free play.
My throttle rolls forward now
It’s needs adjustment which is even easier loosen the 8m -and 10 nut on the cable and adjust.

Didn't work. All the oil just spilled everywhere. Maybe I will try again. Yamaha 2013 R6
