  • Watch as Shop owner Minos shows us step by step how to assemble a 4850 psi high-pressure 2-wire braided hydraulic hose with an overall target length of 85 cm using two-piece JIC Steel Hose Tails and 2 wire Ferrules.
    Specifications of the Hose Fittings used are as follows
    3/8 hose tail with 9/16 JIC female swivel nut and a separate 2-wire crimp on the ferrule.
    ENGMATTEC is an Australian Brand of Hydraulic Hose manufactured to meet or exceed SAE 100R2 AT 06 specifications. The hose used in this video has a 3/8 inch inside diameter and is reinforced with two layers of braided high tensile steel wire, it is rated for working pressures up to 330 bar (4850 psi) and temperatures up to 120°C.

    Please work carefully during the removal, preparation, & assembly of Hydraulic Hoses. Before removal of the hose check the work area very carefully & make sure that hazards such as heavy loads supported by pressurized oil inside the hose are either lowered to the ground, adequately supported, or chained up. Death or severe injury can result if you miss this check. Hot Sparks will be generated when cutting the steel wire reinforced hose with an angle grinder or other disc-type hose cutter, keep flammable items away from the work area, wear appropriate protective clothing & equipment, and keep the work area clear of potential trip hazards
