  • A short film, comprised of shots that were taken during my time WWOOFing in Sweden last summer. The film intends to show a little bit about WWOOFing to current, old and potentially, new WWOOFers, with the hope of attracting people out there to learn and experience it for themselves.
    This film has been entered into a competition which is being run by WWOOF Sweden. The film at the end of each quarter of the year with the most views wins, so if you like my film and think it is worthy of winning, then please share it!

    My sister and I am thinking of WWOOFing in Sweden or Norway this coming summer/next fall (we're still deciding). I am in *LOVE* with the beauty of the Scandinavian countries and it would be a dream come true to have the pleasure of working alongside those who know the land best. ♥
    And as an amateur film maker... I'd say that your video was definitely worthy of a win! It looked great and made my heart beat a little faster than normal. 😇💖

    How is this not so popular? This is a tremendous experience for all travellers if only this WWOOF is familiar to most people. 😕

      I really don't know, it's still one of the best travel experiences I've had to this day! I plan to do more trips like this and make more videos about them....let's get the word out there and spread the message. The more people who get to WWOOF the better.

    I'm thinking about WWOOFING after graduating from university in July, and have a bit of money together for travel expenses. Your video made it look like good fun. How long did you stay in Sweden for? Did you go there by yourself or with friends?

    • @WalkerCreativeVideo
      @WalkerCreativeVideo  10 лет назад

      I went with two friends, although going on your own will still be good as you will meet lots of people there. It was good fun and it was a good experience too, we learnt a lot and got involved with the local community. We actually did it as part of a wider 6 week trip. We spent two weeks on the farm, then had another two weeks in Sweden, followed by another two weeks split between Denmark, Germany & Belgium. I would definitely recommend it to you, I had a great time!

    Check the link that Sam posted above, there you can find out how to contact hosts, where they are, how long they need volunteers etc. I really recommend doing it, it is a great experience!

    I'm thinking of WWOOFing in Sweden, Denmark and Scotland as a final project for school and I have a timeframe of 3 weeks. I was wondering, would you spend a week in each country and did you find Denmark and Sweden to be very different? If so, how?

    • @WalkerCreativeVideo
      @WalkerCreativeVideo  10 лет назад +3

      I'm not sure if you will be able to stay for only a week on each farm to be honest, most of the places that I looked at had a minimum stay requirement of 2 weeks. I also think that it would be beneficial to stay in one place for longer, rather than a few places for a short time, as it will allow you to fully experience and understand one place rather than having a little taster of each. I can't really tell you what the difference between Denmark and Sweden is. This is because I spent a month in Sweden, WWOOFing, canoeing and staying in Stockholm, but when I went to Denmark I was only there for 3 days and those were spent in Copenhagen. I wasn't able to get a clear feel for the place from only 3 days.

    Do you need to speak the language to travel to these places?

    • @WalkerCreativeVideo
      @WalkerCreativeVideo  9 лет назад +2

      Swedish people generally have a very high level of education, meaning that they can speak multiple languages. Our hosts, and generally everyone we met, spoke fluent English. Many others were also fluent in other northern European languages such as Dutch and German. We were in Sweden for 1 month and never had a single problem communicating with anybody.

      Thank you so much!! I really want to travel to so many different places with WWOOF, but I was wary because I didn't know if I would be able to communicate with hosts. Thank you!

      No problem at all, I hope you enjoy it! Maybe make some videos of wherever you go? I'm always interested to see other people's WWOOFing experiences!
