I'll be rebuilding my large hole dana 18 this winter. The single lever shifter doesn't like to go into 4low and it leaks. Thanks for the video. Got to order some brass hammers and punches.

Excellent video. You did a great job explaining the hows and whys of each step. I tuned in because after installing new seals I've had a couple problems with leaks. Your video gave me the answers I needed. Thanks so much! Subscribing now.

Good use of copper spray sealant 👍...Is rebuild minor kit from KW a Crown kit? Never seen that type of shaft before

No, this is a kit they assemble themselves. They’ve been working hard to put together the best kit possible.

Ever had the main shaft gears rub the inside of the case after tapping in the bearing races? I'm noticing that with my rebuild currently.

Shims, on the speedometer housing, I have a 1960's Brazilian service from Willys Overland, was setting with a filler gauge between the high gear and the main shaft...

I have no idea what you’re talking about. lol… the procedure used in this video for setting output end play is the correct method.

Nice video, but the video is missing a method for installing the handbrake drum and its parts before the end.

This is an m38a1 transfer case. It’s different than a Cj2A transfer case.

So of them uses cage bearings instead of needle bearings.

My intermediate shaft is 3/4 inches and uses cage bearings with the intermediate gear.

I take my yokes to my local machinist and he builds them up and turns them down to proper size for not much money
