    Need to win today. Not saying they can't win at Philly, but ... damn, .. finishing them off with Ranger on the bump seems a lot more reasonable than defeating Wheeler twice in a row in Philly. They need to bury the Phils today and move on.

      Yes. This goes without saying but hear me out... In the event we lose this game I hope it's one of those loses where we tax the Phillies bullpen maybe even an appearance by Wheeler. BUT in the end, we need to finish them!

      Same bro. I get up at 215 in the morning for work, I've watched every game and won't miss one, but it's nice going to bed at 8- 830 instead. LFGM!!

      You always hold your breath with Quintana. Soft-tosser. We all love "stuff," and that isn't Quintana's game. He is certainly capable of getting blown up if he's "off." But he has been tremendous over a lengthy stretch leading into this game. Something like a 0.64 ERA over his last 8 starts. And, as I've pointed out a few times, he's actually been much better over the course of the season than many fans realize. He had two disastrous outings that completely blew up his ERA -- one in May and one in August -- which caused a lot of fans to just dismiss him. But outside of those two starts (15 runs in about 7 innings), he has statistically been the Mets' best starting pitcher -- and that is over like 30 starts. As long as he is "on," he is a DUDE. He's a surgeon. And he has guts.
      Let's get this done tonight, and then move on to So Cal. Don't care if it is LA or SD. [Booking-dot-yeah!]

      @@dashx1103i actually love not going with a power pitcher tonight… the phillies thrive on that type of stuff, hopefully quintana can keep them off balance and neutrialize schwarber and harper with the LL match up because the rest of the lineup is suspect

    Padres are going to Cease up 2-1 on short rest. The fact Phillies aren’t going to Wheeler is crazy 😂😂
    Jose Quintana 0.64 ERA his last 7 starts, perfect vet to be on the mound in a clinching game. He shut down Phillies in 2022 playoffs w/ STL, hopefully he can do the same today.

    I live and work in South Jersey. Guys have been giving me so much shit wearing my Mets hat in the building. But the fan base I see seems defeated. They're giving me my jabs but then saying that we're playing good ball. But in my opinion, with Q on the mound and having our fan base behind us this will likely be a fatal blow to the 2024 Philadelphia Phillies.

    Not gonna lie, .. at this point, I'd rather see the Mets bring back Manaea than Alonso. Though I'd love to see both with this team in '25. Also, Winker doesn't necessarily make sense for next season, but he just seems like one of those guys who brings a little something extra to the heartbeat.

    • @philipcross6733
      @philipcross6733 7 часов назад

      I’d love Manea and Alonso. Winker if he is one of those 4th outfielder contracts , like 2 years. Total of 10-15 mil. Dark horse hope is Yankees lose and we can get Soto for all the bags.

    • @dashx1103
      @dashx1103 7 часов назад +1

      @@philipcross6733 For sure it would be nice to get Soto. I think one of the things we should have learned this season from the Stearns' Mets is that depth and breadth of the roster is more important than a few huge money stars. So, .. I don't know. I'm less infatuated with Soto than I was earlier in the season. We'll see what happens. Soto is definitely a stud. But if the Mets don't get him, it isn't going to bother me too much.

    • @JulianWyllie
      @JulianWyllie 6 часов назад

      @@dashx1103 I feel the same. Soto is ultra-talented obviously and young, but I'm concerned about top heavy teams. I think we're seeing this year that the way to win is having a balanced lineup with everyone feeling like they have a part to play. I also personally like that Alonso seems invested in the Mets success. I'm concerned about guys who may be great but could just coast if they wanted to.
