  • More details / Más detalles:
The design is thought to be able to keep using the backseats and the trunk without always taking out everything. So the trunk is still very well usable and to set up the bed it just takes 2 minutes. In case we need more space all compartments are removable in less than 5 minutes. It takes about the same time to reassemble everything. The two pieces on the sides have a lot of space to storage clothes etc. and at night they are usable as a nightstand.
    Bed size is 190x120 cm.
Material costs without floor: 250 Euros
    Workload: 1 weekend

    --------------------------------------------------
    Precio material: 250 Euros
Carga de trabajo: 1 fin de la semana

Thx a lot. Unfortunately I don’t have any blueprints. The box has to be the same height than the turned down backseats + the thickness of the board you are using so everything is leveled. The rest is up to you. Also I don’t know if your Scudo has the sam interior dimensions than mine, cause mine is an older version. Nevertheless feel free to copy my design or use it as an inspiration. I’m glad that it’s helpful. Cheers

Nice! I saw that you used the three seats row from the back in the middle so they can be folded right? Can this be done using the standard mounts?

Thanks a lot! Yes I used the back seats like support for the unfolded bed and the big advantages is that I´m still able to use them as seats. So I rarely take out the built in construction.
About the standard mounts. To be honest I´m not a hundred percent sure what you´re referring too... the original back seats? I´d say if you can fold them, you can use the same design.
I hope I could help you a bit
      Cheers

Thanks for the reply! Sorry if it wasn't clear. Basically I was wondering if the foldable three seats are always mounted in the middle, so that you can drive with using them as seats. And if yes, if you had to do anything special to place them in the middle instead of the original position in the back?

Hey. Yeah the seats are always mounted and I didn't do anything special to them. But I also believe that the seats I have are not standard. At least this is what someone told me once. I bought the van like this a couple of years ago and I've never touched or modified the seats since then.

Did you secure everything down? It looked like you were just putting the components in the back - not good if you have a crash, with 50kg of wood flying forward :-( .

No worries it's all secured. But for sure the components aren't permanently attached to the car's bodywork, because this requires some modification of the papers (at least here in Spain).
