You should test Saturn with the new Robert Broglia's Saturn emu that uses mednafen under the hood. Its more taxing on low end hardware but less glitchy than Yaba.
I third this. One of my favorite Saturn games is "Overdrivin' GT-R". It's a Japanese market port of the original Need For Speed, with a flock of Nissans replacing the original roster of cars. It also has full Sega 3D Pad support, which means it's the only console version of the original NFS to have analog inputs for throttle, braking, and steering. Anyways, Yaba Sanshiro can't display the steering wheel when in cockpit view for this or NFS. It's just a blank spot. Robert Broglia's Saturn emulator absolutely can though. It was worth the $5 just for that.
China has a bigger market than the west and consoles are very rare in China as they're mostly banned. Not just China. Parents will rather buy their kids pc. BTW these handhelds tend to be cheaper by a few hundred dollars in Asia.
@slapndbass this is also why android in the eastern part of the world has a bunch of amazing games the never come this way. Mobile is a much more sustainable platform for gamers there

I'm still waiting for that special handheld to put my money into. This could be the one, but what will sway me is if it plays most Switch games. If it does I don't mind paying £300 for one.

I have been discussing the handheld market with some like minded enthusiasts. Some hate android and prefer custom Linux. I have been emulating on android phones and have had one or two emulation devices in the past (like RP2 & 2+). My MAIN issue holding me back from a NICE premium android device is BOTH cost and form factor. Besides power and battery life, size is the most important factor. Right now I go by this train of thought: It needs to fit comfortably in my pocket. If it cannot fit comfortably in my pocket it needs a bag. If it needs a bag? I could just use my steam deck. In general, this has resulted in me primarily using two devices: Miyoo Mini & Steam Deck. Until someone makes a replacement for the RG405m handheld that combines portability with power I will probably stick to Miyoo + Steam deck combo for my portable gaming.
Clamshells COULD be an option, but I do not like the sliders on the Retroid Pocket Flip and the New AyaNeo Flip DS is great but both a bit too big and also VERY expensive (to be fair it is a full on 7840U).
Looks like a really premium device. Apparently there will be an ergonomic back cover for it. Not shire if it is aby the supplier or a Third Party. Love the power but it is not really pocketable enough to Justify its "flatness". Price is also a bit expensive.

Considering that this thing is actively cooled , aftermarket roms and kernals could probably push this thing a further 30-40% in performance . Most android devices today are limited by thermals and are nit hitting the full performance ceiling of the SOC . This was evident when youtuber Geekerwan took a snapdragon 855 powered phone and turned it into a gaming handheld by modding it ,adding a cooling fan and pushing the clockspeeds of the cpu/gpu wayyyyyy up , and it managed to outperform even a snapdragon 8 gen 1 device playing genshin imoact even though the 855 is several generations behind !! Also mobox is comming along great and you can now even tun gta 5 on it at 30+fps . I might get rid of my 7840U handheld and get this ayaneo if its priced right
I went from a retroid pocket 3 to the 3 plus to an odin 2 pro. AYN did such a great job. I don't think I can go back to a smaller device. Odin2 is the perfect size, weight, and price. Going to skip pocket s.

Why would this be similarly priced to the Odin 2? This is newer, more powerful, and made of more "premium" materials. The base model for this won't cost less than $400 USD Edit. If that is wrong then no worries i am just saying with the plethra of gaming handhelds i would not be willing to pay over 300 dollars for this unless it really out performs those older that are similarly priced. I can't believe that such a small device can go up 1440p. I wonder if this adreno A32 GPU is more powerful than the adreno 750 in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
i really want a retroid pocket but with the performance difference that these two should have it really just depends on if i can afford this over a retroid

This is super interesting but needs to be significantly cheaper than the cheapest steam deck to make any sense. I'd say any more than 200 usd would make the steam deck seem more attractive. Please remember the steam deck is more capable in terms of cpu and gpu, has more ram, can run both linux and windows. Moreover you carry your steam library and there are far more options for emulation. This also needs to compete with my phone and a controller. And with the myriad of other cheap emulation handhelds. So unless somebody loves android native games (these ppl will usually play on phone), this is in a tough spot price wise.

no its not. Not at all .Literally all flagship phones these days ship with 1440p or higher resolution and most games have options for hitting said resolutions. Also the difference between 1080p and 1440p on a handheld screen is night and day .
how fast is it relative to 8 Gen 3? Both CPU and GPU? I suspect CPU might be faster because of 8 P-cores but GPU is not very obvious because of significantly higher clock speed but I am not sure about the architecture

Looks kind of uncomfortable looking at it too, is it just me that thinks that?
And lastly how big is that battery on such a slim device?
I can't believe that such a small device can go up 1440p. I wonder if this adreno A32 GPU is more powerful than the adreno 750 in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
so the ayaneo pocket s is better than the Odin 2 Max??? And what is the estimated price of the ayaneo pocket s
Do we have any info on video-out capabilities?
Is the headphone jack gone? I would like to see Wii and switch. I would hope the 12GB ram model is no more than $400
When will it come out? And how much?
i really want a retroid pocket but with the performance difference that these two should have it really just depends on if i can afford this over a retroid
369 And below would be a great price for the base model. It's smaller and ever so slightly better then the odin 2,so the price of the odin 2 pro for it would be perfect
Got an Odin 2 pro on order (waiting for them to send it out) … should I cancel for this or… hmm 😬
Same :D
@@josef5962tempted by this or sticking with the Odin 2?
This is super interesting but needs to be significantly cheaper than the cheapest steam deck to make any sense. I'd say any more than 200 usd would make the steam deck seem more attractive. Please remember the steam deck is more capable in terms of cpu and gpu, has more ram, can run both linux and windows. Moreover you carry your steam library and there are far more options for emulation. This also needs to compete with my phone and a controller. And with the myriad of other cheap emulation handhelds. So unless somebody loves android native games (these ppl will usually play on phone), this is in a tough spot price wise.
I need to get one for myself,it it will nicely match with my Ayaneo 2 (black).
Why no Wii and Switch game testing? Let me watch it again, maybe I missed it.
I was getting worried, it had been a whole 30 seconds without Aya releasing another handheld.
Seriously, at about 50 seconds of silence I assumed everyone at the company exploded. 🤣
what about a simple round of weird handheld accesories?
Battery life?
I wanna see some more switch emulation on this like BOTW, red dead 1, TOTK, etc
Weird request, but I’m interested in if it’s possible to emulate the gran turismo 4 spec II mod that has updated texture and sound mods on nethersx2.
Hi! What I should expect comparing the power of this one and Odin 2? Thanks
AyaNeo Pocket S looks really beautiful and powerful handheld but if it's just an Android handheld, i'm not gonna buy it. I'm more interested of AyaNeo Slide and Flip DS defienitily Flip DS. Emulation on AyaNeo looks and works surprisilly good wow. 😊😮
Good luck finding a handheld pc in that form factor with good battery life.
@@soreyJr thank you, I've been interested of a pc handhelds ober 3 years since 2021 and Steam Deck but I still don't have any pc handhelds. I'm interested of AyaNeo, Onexplayer, Asus Rog Ally, Lenovo Legion Go and Steam Deck Oled. Problems are prices of those handhelds. But i'm glad to have a Nintendo Switch.
And i'm waiting when i'm getting more money. 😂 @@JohnneyleeRollins
The Flip DS battery life sucks lol
x86 handhelds have horrible battery life
i'd love to know which one is better: this chipset or the snapdragon gen 2 from the odin
hey man, i know this device is still an engineering sample but, do you happen to try running some benchmarking apps like Geekbench, 3dmark, and antutu I'm just wondering what numbers can this processor do compared to the SD 8Gen3 with proper cooling and all that performance shinnanigans
15w is the same power as the steam deck. would be interesting to compare them in similar workloads
Do we know the refresh rate on this screen? I want a machine for emulation but id like to run cod at 120..
Price?
1440p is overkill for a handheld lol. I would've preferred an oled 1080p screen with 120hz instead
no its not. Not at all .Literally all flagship phones these days ship with 1440p or higher resolution and most games have options for hitting said resolutions. Also the difference between 1080p and 1440p on a handheld screen is night and day .
Ayo neo at this point is a throwaway device. Please stop marketing throw away devices
how fast is it relative to 8 Gen 3? Both CPU and GPU? I suspect CPU might be faster because of 8 P-cores but GPU is not very obvious because of significantly higher clock speed but I am not sure about the architecture
It's a snapdragon 8 gen 2 with increased tdp and gpu clock basically, so sd 8 gen 3 is still faster
@the-ff3xr wait GPU or CPU? As in the cpu core layouts are completely different. So you mean the multi core perf is the same?
if the gamecube game doesnt run at fullspeed at 1080p, with such a small screen would native res be ok?
this needs a hardshell case to carry in your pocket
How is the comfort in the hands for long play sessions? I just got the RP4Pro and wonder how this compares in size and fit in the hands. While I like the Odin, I happen to prefer slightly smaller devices.
It’s the size of a switch lite. Can’t be that bad
I'm selling my RP4Pro again, feels too small in my hands and I have to cramp them to play.
@@DeadVoivoddid you try the grip? That really makes a difference.
@@christiansta2771 Yeah could be, but I don't like the look of it though.
@@DeadVoivod I got the clear one and it doesn't look bad at all. Plus, it is super easy to take on and off.
Antutu Score? Which switch games tested?
How would this thing compare to the Odin 2?
Im so confuse with qualcomm, what is differetnt Gx series with snapdragon regular, it still have cellular network
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat ps2
Video game
This game will be the ultimate emulation challenge.
Low-end Switch? I think it'd do it fine, especially with the recent updates to both Yuzu and Ryujinx. My Note 20 Ultra can almost run BDSP stably. Here's hoping! 💚
What about this chip vs a snap 8 Gen 2?
How does it hold up against the Odin 2
Can you tell us the size of the battery?
Really want a comparison against Odin 2
Maybe test it for game streaming, Xbox cloud, GFN PS remote play etc?
