I was looking for care tips and stumbled on this video. I bought a pair 20 years ago and had them until recently. I gave them to my 11 year old niece about 6 months ago and she basically hasn't taken them off since. People ask her about them (we're in the states) and compliment her all the time. They're in good shape- though have the 'cool' beaten look. So, at least ones bought in the 90s last for ages! Thanks for the vid.
I told my cousin about this video and he took his old pair of 500s with the bad soles on them into the company and they gave him a new pair. Great service from Blundstone!
I live in the former home of Blundstone (Hobart). The pre-Asian boots were very tough, very hard soled at the expense of comfort ,stiff leather sourced locally. The softer rubber soles appeared a few years before going offshore. These soles last max of a year with medium heavy use. I used the steel cap version for close to 20 years (work supplied). Post Asia the boots looked and felt much the same but I was lucky to get 2 months out of the innersoles- I contacted them they sent new ones. Same thing next set and so on. I finally gave up and moved to another Asian boot( Blue Steel). . Blundstone throw a lot of cash at sports marketing here, but I can't help thinking about the several hundred local jobs lost to improve their profit margin. Odd how the price never dropped along with production costs. I still have a pre-Asian 500 model, which I love.
I am from Hobart where the factory is at Derwent Park, I also have had numerous pairs of Blunnies in my life but a few years ago My favorites the Blundstone Mountain Master Series - Tpu Sole Hiking Boots Chestnut Brown - Style 480 which I might add were super comfortable the soles just fell to pieces. the rubber just disintegrated as you rubbed your hand over them. This is before they went off shore and were made in Hobart. I took them back to the factory and they brushed me off and couldn't care less. Long story short I now wear Steel Blue boots from W.A and couldn't be happier. I wear them every day at work and they would have to be the most comfortable boots I have owned.
So excited.... i FINALLY bought my first Pair of #560 Brown Winter Blundstones...... I treated myself!!! As a single Mother of 4 it was a BIG purchase (funny i'd spend that on the kids but not me ??) saved all my Christmas gift money and my Blundstone Adventure is about to begin!! Thanks for the Customer Service Video!!! put my mind at ease .... just hope when they get broken in they don't become sloppy 5.5 was to small so 6 was it.
Hello! I'm thinking on buying a pair of these boots. And I'm curious to know if after 8 months from your post on youtube. are your boots in good condition and will you recommend them? Or are they sloppy?
Well, my boots that disintegrated where the older styles made in Australia not made in Asia. I'm no chemist but the rubber on the new boots is completely different. I'm sure the Blundstone rep is speaking the "marketing talking points" and there's more to the story. They could have just messed up the rubber formula or something on a few batches. But at the end of the day Blundstone stood by their product and sent me 2 new pairs. Most companies won't do that!
Better Asian boots because of cheap slave labour Reliance on cheap overseas manufacturing will be harmful to the envirment and our Heath and we'll being. We don't all need to be over educated loonies 🇦🇺
Good video Thanks. FYI: our old Bluntstones were different models (Brown were 500 series, and the black ones were the 063 series). They sent you two new pairs of the 500 (Brown) and 510 (Black) series. It's easy to tell the different based on the toe shape and the soles. Nice to get 2 free pair of boots!! I agree the Blundstone customer service is excellent!!!
+Bob Allison It looks like the new pair are both Super 550s. (If you want to get technical, it's a black #558 and a brown #550). The tan leather lining is a dead giveaway.
If you bought a pair made ~ pre-2013, there is a risk you have a "DDU" (double density urethane I suppose) outsole that indeed had a problem. QSince at least 2014 all Blundstone from the international leisure collection are made with "TPU" outsoles (thermo-polyurethane) and these are close to indestructible.
I'm Through with Blundstones , My most recent boots after two years use - the Soles Basically crumbled apart , the polyurethane soles failed and Blundstone tried to tell me its basic wear and tear (B.S.) I''m switching over to Viberg Casual Romeo (which are resoleable) Canadian Made ( No China or Taiwan Facsimiles).
You can also send your old boots to Vibram to get resoled. its $75 with free shipping and you get to pick the sole. If the uppers are all good those boots could last forever.
Mate you were lucky here in aussie no such thing would happen I contacted Blundstone to tell em my soles fell apart there answer was Sir did you get em wet or walk through water bought another pair they were that tight around your foot you can't wear em any longer than a hour contacted Blundstone they said wet em & wear em {um rite} I mentioned about the last pair & what they had told me only to be told oh well it's up to you what you do with em.. yep grouse customer service down here!!! & I'd been wearing them when they use to make grouse boots about 12years ago
Blundstone didn't really tell you the whole truth, a few years ago they stopped making their boots in Australia, they are now made in south east Asia. The quality has since gone down hill badly, prior to the change in production location & quality the soles were a much better.
Yeah, I haven't been pleased with the new ones. And considering the price they are charging in N.America. I've replaced my Blunnies with a pair of USA Made Frye boots. Cost more then Blunnies but they last for years. I've heard of Rossi but no where near me sells them so I haven't checked them out. Sometime though...
The company DOES NOT replace boots with crumbling out soles. I had the same problem with my boots, they were falling apart after two years. I contacted Blundstone, in the US. And I got nothing. They do not need to promise a warranty they cannot fulfill.
teppichkopf no there not the originals!! Look at the nr on the brown there not 500. Theyre both leatherlined and I believe the browns are the walnut not stout brown.
then you are lucky one. my Boots crumbled one week after the first use. Blundstone promised me a proper solution - this is over 8 month ago.just silence and Not even an answer to my mails. IT depends where the customer lives, I supose.
Hey ... what number did you call for customer service? I'm living in the United States and can't get any company in Australia to ship me Blundstones! The boots I want aren't carried by any US distributor. The phone number on the Blundstone website doesn't make sense. Help me out?
Blundstones are not Aussie any more. They are made in Thailand and India. They used to be made in Tasmania and were great. Since they shipped production offshore, the quality has noticeably dropped, but the price definitely hasn’t! Rossi and Redback are far far better and made in Australia. Australians now know Blundstones are garbage. That’s why you see tradesmen and people in the know all over Australia wearing Rossi and Redback!
WOULD U PLEASE SELL ME UR 2 PAIR OF OLD BLUNDSTONES THAT ARE IN UR VIDEO? I'D TRULY LIKE TO OWN THEM COULD U PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE WITH UR DECISION PLEASE? THANK U FOR UR CONSIDERATION
Gets 2 PAIRS of free Blundstones, the small magazine, and the extra pair of insoles..."Could have been a sticker".

can you explain how to do?

That's awesome. It's nice that Blundstone stands behind their boots. I'm a wearer for life, for sure.

I have a similar story coming up, expecting new boots within three weeks.
Indeed they care for there customers!
Well? 8 years have passed, how did they hold up?

I had the same issue about the rubber soles falling apart. I showed them the shoes and received a new pair immediately. I love the new pair.

Wow! How kind of them!
how are boots holding up would love to know I'm looking to get a pair

Your local cobbler could do the same.
Had two pairs that the soles just crumbled apart on. I'll look for something that can be resoled next time.
Good product. Mongrel boots are good too. They make a good and more affordable dress boot similar to RMs.
No worries. Just send me your website when it's ready so I can check it out. I'm always interested in reading about Blundstones!
& I'd been wearing them when they use to make grouse boots about 12years ago

true to size?

Try the new Winter Rustic Browns. Sheep skin insole and thinsulate. My son and I love them up here in Canada!

hey i was wondering, which models are the originals and did you order the exact same models again? A 500 classic brown and a 510 black?
The brown 500 are the originals.
teppichkopf no there not the originals!! Look at the nr on the brown there not 500. Theyre both leatherlined and I believe the browns are the walnut not stout brown.
Cathrine Gustavsson I believe the beat up ones are the 1306 model
I hope my Blundstones don't fall apart......the manufacturing date says May 2019
What , this was 8 years ago
yeah, i'm very happy with em.
then you are lucky one. my Boots crumbled one week after the first use. Blundstone promised me a proper solution - this is over 8 month ago.just silence and Not even an answer to my mails. IT depends where the customer lives, I supose.
+Peter K ~~ Yeah, that sucks. Maybe try again and see if results differ...

I actually had to work with the Canadian distributor. Maybe you can see if they're available from up North.
Hey man, i got a question, how did you reach out to them ?
Try their online form: blundstone.com/contact-us
Customer service as awesome as their boots.
Nice. Enjoy them!
I see you have moccasins on would you ever consider selling them ? would love to have them..
Thanks. Sure, no problem to link to my youtube video on your site.

YES AS BEAT UP AS POSSIBLE? DO THEY STINK AND STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL INSOLES? WHEN CAN U SEND THEM TO ME AND HOW MUCH DO U WANT FOR THEM?
Yikes.
If you mean -40 weather, yeah these boots aren't meant for for that climate.
Switched to Rossi. Better product wear like Iron! Still made in Australia.
Old Blunnies were great, new ones are hardly better than a galosh.
Rossi boots my friend , Rossi boots
he sounds like Jack Black
What was their advice? Don't drang your feet?
2 free pairs ! Wow .
WOULD U PLEASE SELL ME UR 2 PAIR OF OLD BLUNDSTONES THAT ARE IN UR VIDEO? I'D TRULY LIKE TO OWN THEM COULD U PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE WITH UR DECISION PLEASE? THANK U FOR UR CONSIDERATION
saber1234100 You want to totally beat up pairs?
Redback boots are the new B-stones. Buy Australian, not China.
Not worth it at all! There's much much more interesting option in +/- blundstone's price range. Even some proper handmade boots.
Cheap scape
Do you think a pair of cheap mass produced boots should last a lifetime
Try getting a pair of Nike to last
Garbage boot. Now made in China and Vietnam, not what they used to be
It’s pronounced “Blundstun”.
