Yay another atari video 😊 I've watched them all including tooty uk videos. I'm still not sure if I want the atari plus or not food fight is my favourite atari 7800 game and it doesn't work boo and also I don't have time to clean games every time I want to play them it's a little fussy so it seems. the orginal atari just plays. I need a big think about it. Yes kaboom is awesome 😊
Hey Jo, the Atari + is great if you want a modern TV set up with no hassle, I'm gutted that food fight doesn't work, but I've been told the NTSC version works fine
Interesting with pole position, the guy who developed the 2600+ has commented on my vid and said an update is coming so we'll have to hang tight for it mate. Spider fighter WTF thats looks insane, told you mr run and jump is good!
That's good news to hear a developer of the Atari 2600 has been in touch, let's hope that update is soon With pole position 2 and the lack of proper controls let's hope the other 2 button games don't have similar issues Spider fighter is great And yes you did say about Mr Run n Jump it's a cracking little platformer
A few things: Food Fight NTSC works like a treat for me (I am in the USA) Second, it is well documented now that the 7800 buttons are swapped. Apparently the guy that did it is quite embarrassed that he missed that! I wonder if something may be wrong with button 2 on your controller. Pole Position works fine for me, albeit with the swapped buttons
Thanks for the info, I definitely need to get an NTSC food fight now as it's one of my favourite 7800 games, oh wow that's interesting so buttons 1&2 have swapped it could well be I have a faulty button 2 then on my 7800 controller
I heard something about the button reversal. That sounds like something that can be remedied in a software update potentially. Or if not possibly modded in the controller itself. @@SEGAZombie
Nicely done! I'm halfway 'frew' your video (love the accent!). Hey, if you can do some game play of the 7800 games, that'd be great. I've had most of the games but never played 'em. Good content!
Spider Fighter is undoubtedly a tough game but well worth persevering with. I’m so pleased you’re not disappointed with it. Essential tip for Kaboom that might not be immediately obvious…When you lose a bucket the game moves down to a previously lower speed level but obviously still gets harder as you have less buckets to catch the bombs. The trick is, you get an extra bucket (max of 3) every 1000 points so you need to deliberately drop a bomb as close to 1000 points as possible at which point the game slows down but you very quickly get an extra bucket but the game remains at the slower level. Keep repeating this process when you get close to the next 1000 points. This technique takes some getting used too and the game still gets pretty hard but it’s essential to get those top scores. Good luck 😅
I'm definitely going to persevere with Spider fighter I'm actually really enjoying it love how frantic it is hahaha Oh wow so a bit more depth to the gameplay of Kaboom then I will try that strategy, thanks again mate for the deal on that atari bundle
I stupidly asked to get one for Christmas, I'm so frustrated having to watch everyone have fun with theirs while mine is still wrapped up , under the tree 😂
Great vid Scott, if you like Kaboom give Chicken a look assuming it's on 2600 or 7800. I'll be doing a vid of that one soon probably with a few other Atari 800 games in one video. That Spider Fighter looks great, I wonder what that bugger was up to stealing one of those balls from the top right corner near the end there🤔
Thanks Tetlee, I really like Kaboom can't believe I never played this game bitd just completely passed me by Looking forward to your next Atari 800 video as som many games I've yet to play on that micro
It was trying to steal one of your remaining lives, it's random, but really adds another dimension to the gameplay, as you often get killed trying to save the life, there's irony for you.
Kaboom definitely has that one more go gameplay, spider fighter is fast and frantic a game definitely I would love to master, yeah I. Also gutted about pole position 2 let's hope this update happens soon
Great video, not got much of an Atari collection, so I won't be getting the 2600+. I like the look of the Atari Gameststion Pro though, may look more into that 👍🏻
Shame about pole position, hopefully this and all the games that won't load will be sorted in a future update. Those paddle controllers look very cool. Spider fighter looked fun.
I'm told I'm getting a 2600+ for Chrimbo which is cool because I still have 11 carts to play from decades ago. One of them is Star Raiders and I still have the touch pad that came with it. Anyone know if this touch pad will still work on the 2600+?. Great video and Merry Chrimbo to all! 😊
I just got spider fighter and I love it!! Kaboom has been one of my favorites!!! Anyone have any problems loading Plaque attack? It’s supposed to be compatible with the 2600+ according to their list but I can’t get it to load even though I cleaned it very well.
Hi mate. Absolutely love your shop. You may remember me. The postman with the baby. Was in there today. Normally buy PS2 games. Only social I have is twitter, do you have an account? 👍
great video!
FYI - With the 2600+, you can hot-swap games without turning the system off. Great video and you earned yourself another sub. Cheers!!!
I've just tried that out brilliant mate

I will look into it

If you have the original 7800 controllers, can they be used with the 2600+?
@@MrBluesMessiah yes they can be used but the emulation on the Atari 2600+ has reversed button 1 and 2 functions
I heard something about the button reversal. That sounds like something that can be remedied in a software update potentially. Or if not possibly modded in the controller itself.

You now own a boxed copy of KaBoom sir. Welcome to the club sir it's great to have you as one of us.
I'm proud to be part of the Kaboom club what a great little game

Hahaha I get a few comments on my accent 🤣 I definitely need to do some shorter videos covering some of these games

@@markgentry3305 what a brilliant gameplay mechanic 😆
I use a fiberglass pencil as well to clean my cartages. it very delicately sands any oxidization off the copper pins.
Really making me question wether i Really want one or not
Great video mate
I would maybe hold fire for an update mate as you already own 2600 and 7800
Really like the look of Kaboom, would like to get that, Spider Fighter looks good but tough
Shame about Pole Position as might have bought that👍

Fingers crossed on the update
Spider fighter is frantic and addictive
Run and jump looks very addictive, kaboom looks fucking nuts lol and spider fighter looks loads of fun

for Pole Position 2, you might want to try an US joystick, I have no issue with it, except for the reversed button configuration.

I've got no nostalgia for the Atari 2600 but I have to say The Activision games do seem the better games
The Activision games are definitely a step up gameplay wise
ntsc games works fine, pal no
Have you tried all NTSC carts on the Atari 2600+
no, pero todos los que tengo funcionan bien
So once you have loaded the Rom from the cartridge, do you need to put the cartridge in the next time you go to play it?
