    It seems that some brothers may not have paid enough attention and have misunderstood.
    1) The shaykh has said that it is wrong to say they are your brothers in humanity. This concept is false.
    2) You are not allowed to say "MY brother". In arabic "akhi". As for "akh" without the kasrah then this has a different meaning. The shaykh said this is fine. Hence saying "brother" and "bro" is fine according to the shaykh provided this is not intended to mean "brother in humanity". People commonly say "bro" in the West at it does not carry the same meaning as "akhi". What would be haraam is to say "my brother" or "my bro".

      Easy way to rebut the whole "brother in humanity" concept is to ask yourself, did the Prophet (peace be upon him) or his Companions ever use this kind of terminology with those who haven't yet accepted Islam (outside of their family members that is)?

    • @DeMonotheist
      @DeMonotheist 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@AymanTravelTransportindeed. Stick to the salaf. Shaykh ibn uthaymeen is a respected scholar but his "akh" opinion isnt referred to manhaj salaf. Its his ijtihad. There is absolutely no need to call a kaafir "akh" or "bro" without intending insaniyya or religious brotherhood.

  • @user-user-user-user.
    @user-user-user-user. Год назад +15

    With all due respect to the Sheyk, his opinion fails to take into account other cultures, the type of language that other cultures employ, colloquialisms, slang, and other culture-specific linguistic patterns. For example the informal use of the word “bro” in both Muslim and non Muslim culture. The term “bro” can be identified as a noun (although it can be turned into a verb) and generally translates as “a comrade, a friend.” It would be misleading to suggest it means anything else (just as the term “habibi” is not a formal declaration of romantic love between males in the Arabic speaking world).

    They might not be our brothers in deen yet however they are our brothers and sisters because our father is Adam . So I don’t see any harm in callin them my brother or sister . I think the sheikh was not practicing compassion at all . The Quran verse he cited was just saying the believers are one brotherhood .

    • @thepillar1164
      @thepillar1164  Год назад +22

      Our dear brother, disbelievers are not closer to us than the son of Nuh was to Nuh and yet Allah forbade him from referring to him as family due to his kufr.
      And refrain from statements such as "I don't see any harm in..." It is a matter of Aqeedah from which this prohibition of ascribing brotherhood to disbelievers comprises. This is not a matter of opinion
      Yes, the Shaykh mentioned the verse of only the Believers are brothers, though this is more than sufficient as proof - recall the other verses the Shaykh cited.
      The prophet sal'Allahu alayhi wa sallam and the companions were more keen upon compassion than anyone after them yet they never uttered such words to the kuffar. They, in fact, fought their own blood brothers and fathers in battle, let alone those unrelated to them.
      Compassion is giving them dawah, being at their service, doing well by them, fulfilling their needs, speaking a kind word, etc. All of this is good that Allah enjoins. However, calling them our brothers or our sisters is not compassion in the least, it is misguidance.
      Disbelievers are not our brothers and sisters, dear brother. So long as they are upon kufr, they'll never be referred by us with same words that we refer to you. Our brotherhood in Islam is precious and the amount and intensity of love we give to you, we will never give them because you have submitted to Allah in Islam. There is nothing to rival that. May Allah bless you dear brother and elevate your rank.

    I have a question why their is no difference being made between non muslims who are ignorant of Islam vs non muslims who had witnessed the message and yet turned away . Are both non muslims alike ? If not why their is no distinction . Also how is the example of Muslims being brothers to each other is a proof against that Non Muslim and Muslim aren't brothers in humanity ? . The verse never mentions that Believers are but brothers to each other and not to non muslims etc. Another is how is the example of Nuh AS son befitting non muslims who have no experience of Islam ? .
