For anyone trying to find these trails on Trailforks, here's what I managed to figure out (some of the track names that Hamish mentioned I couldn't find on Trailforks). Started at Goldsworthy lane parking. Then took Rocky Racoon down to the river crossing. Then 'Up' onto Morning Glory/Afternoon Delight, around Glass Onion, then The Long and Winding Trail, then Ozymandias, then Gorgeous George, then just back up to the carpark. Thanks for sharing Hamish!
Love plenty gorge, I used to ride more the south end with a bit of George. I found it fun to finish off with a couple of runs down the jump tracks right at the south end. Congratulations for your baby girl, it won’t be long until she’s ripping around on a balance bike. I have great memories of guiding my boy around Hans loop on his.
The off bike footage of you riding is important as we see your technique but also shows the terrain better too. I am still navigating my way around the Plenty Gorge and always finding something new and enjoying my old favourites.
Hey mate great video. Me and my dad rode the Myxomatosis trail and then linked up with the Long and Winding trail just yesterday. Good to know a couple people that go to the gorge as well. cheers
Congrats on the bub! "no sleep till ...." Really liking the 2 camera setup on the interesting features. Its the other side of melb for me, but really keen to check out these trails. It reminds me of what I started on around Fairfeild and Kew 15-20yrs ago
Haha thanks. Yes, learning how to operate on next to no sleep. Yes some of these trails are like Yarra Trails if that's what you're referring too. Almost the bigger brother version of those
I am amazed that when you say the trail is 'sketchy', you are going at it like a mad man! Ease up a bit and it won't be all that 'sketchy'! BTW - Love what you are doing, I am 65 and really enjoy MTB'íng
I wanna come here tomorrow but I’m not sure what the place is called on google maps, there is plenty gorge parklands, plenty gorge mtb parking, yellow gum park, and Goldsworthy lane, can you guys help me out and tell me which of them this park is?
@@longandwinding thanks but do you know where to head from mtb parking, because last time I went there and I ended up at blue lake and I couldn’t find any trails
Thanks! All the trails are open for everyone to use, just keep an eye out especially on the tight and twisty single track for riders and you'll be fine 👍🏻
Is there a right way to tackle these? Do you ever have people coming in the opposite direction? I didn't notice any signs suggesting the recommended way to tackle the trail.
The extra camera angles are great. Would’ve taken a fair bit of extra time. You must have crashed just for the camera 😜 now that’s commitment to providing interesting content. My go to is Lysty but also enjoy Buxton heaps. Should give the Gorge another go. Only been there once. Congrats with the bubs.
I played the crash over a few times 😁 Funny you caught yourself coming a cropper! and in slow mo. You ride so fast! I don't know if I want to ride with you anymore 🤣😂 Seriously though, enjoy being a dad 😊
Hey Mate, great vid. Definitely adding the Gorge to my list! Just wondering what the mono fork is all about. Does it change the way you ride? is it Stiffer? Does it have a dedicated genre (cross country, trail, downhill ect. ect.)?
The fork is a cannondale lefty. Doesn’t change how I ride but is very stiff. They’re really only for XC and gravel these days. There are a few rigid ones too
This looks great I am new to Melbourne and just bought a bike , definitely going to check this out , how long does it take to get back to where you parked ?
Lewis Dowling there are trails the branch out in multiple directions from the car park. You can do green loops or larger tougher loops. Most trails are on Trail Forks
A long, long time. Use Trailforks or ride with people who know the trails. There are a few group rides that happen at the Gorge. Check the Facebook group
@@longandwinding fair enough, i'll have a look. Thanks man! Also do you not worry about snakes in there? Me and my mate went riding there, and he literally stepped on a brown snake in the midde of the path, this kinda put me off going there, but after your video i wanna go back
its sad that jut recently the table top line has been destroyed due to idiots thinking they can jump but fail and this has happend so many time that they had to nock it down.
Yo everyone, we’ve brought a brand new baby girl into the world by the name of Remi. Everyone doing well and We’re so happy!
on ya mate, hope all goes well.
Somebody thanks! She’s great
Congratulations! Babies are beautiful! Welcome to the big adventure!
nicki reed thanks!
Congratulations!
That camera was set up perfectly to catch your fall?! Almost like you're trying to hurt yourself! You've got a baby on the way!
Liam Kinson haha, that one really knocked the wind out of me!
Liam Kinson and yes! Baby just arrived

Daisy hill reserve Brisbane. Now has a link to Bayview mtb park. I usually do a 10 km loop in Daisy hill. 15 mins drive from my house.
Stuart Pilling nice, 15mins is da bomb
You really know the gorge well. I have been going there for ages but didn't know about it for a long time. I've done a lot of hiking too in there.

Thanks Rico Willy. Very excited to get her on a balance bike!
Good stuff mate, enjoy the “ride”.

Good feedback. Thanks! Best thing about Plenty Gorge is discovering new trails. Oldies are always good though
Come across your vids today, I live in Mill Park and ride the gorge a bit. Always finding new trails there. Nice vids man!
Thanks Ryan 👍
Hey mate great video. Me and my dad rode the Myxomatosis trail and then linked up with the Long and Winding trail just yesterday. Good to know a couple people that go to the gorge as well. cheers
Ah good stuff! Really fun and at times brutal trails. Especially Myxo. Enjoy

Like the new format, and hate to say it but the crash looked great in slow mo! Congrats on the new bubs!
Bazerca thanks for the feedback 👍

Graeme Taylor haha faster the better I say. Sketchy ain’t always bad! Awesome job, hope I can still be riding at your age
Great video and nice capture of the stack.
Congratulations on the new arrival.
Biking Car Fanatic thank you! Stack hurt but baby helps forget the wounds!
Love riding the gorge and the black diamonds
It's great stuff alright
Another great video mate .
Thanks Joseph
i know all of those trails. i use to always go riding there
Great spot
good loop may do it soon
Love the gorge, definitely a special place to ride. But for me the Norge is where it's at.
XxProDeadly2xX true! Will have to do a feature on that soon
Going to the gorge today and riding myxomatosis and long and winding
Awesome! Have fun

@@zentro6115 head past the water tank and you'll find a nice loop. Trailforks is your friend 👍🏻
I gotta get there someday
awesome videos...
Thanks 😊
Hope the birth went well and congrats....👍
Thanks!
This is epic! Btw congratulations on the birth of your baby! As a walker how do we avoid bike trails? It will be the first time I go into the Gorge
Thanks! All the trails are open for everyone to use, just keep an eye out especially on the tight and twisty single track for riders and you'll be fine 👍🏻

I mostly ride them this way. It’s rare to come across someone coming the other way

Sportilium thanks! Yes it did take a bit more time. Defs did not intentionally crash for the cam! I’m still licking my wounds!
I played the crash over a few times 😁

You ride so fast! I don't know if I want to ride with you anymore 🤣😂 Seriously though, enjoy being a dad 😊
I know! Couldn't believe it. So easy to overcook that part of the trail. I do a bit of racing so fast = fun! Loving dad life so far!
Too bad it burnt down. Awesome video!
Cheers. Hopefully most of the Gorge is still in tact
Rotor river track? Road to River track? Can't find on Trailforks.
Road to River. It may not be on trailforks…
have you ridden the yellow box?
Whats that?
@@longandwinding a section of jumps in plenty gorge
What happens if you are riding so fast and someone is hiking around the corner or hill?
Haven’t experienced this scenario but a collision is unlikely

Lewis Dowling this particular loop took me about an hour - 10kms
I went there today
How long did it take you to orientate around this park? I went there and kept gettin lost

I take a couple of snake bandages and instructions on how to use them. Especially if riding alone
Have you ridden rocky raccoon?
Yep! Good trail
tbh the south part below the river is the best place
