I really hoped you could transform the ghostly pictures I saw before my inner eye when listening to the song into a beautiful amv, that is why I requested it. And you absolutely NAILED it! :D 0:14-0:19 is perfect! Amity is sad and crying but then realizes that Luz is crying even more than her, hence the "ocean" part is focused on Luz. I love this detail; it captures their characters so well. It also shows that they SEE each other and recognize and acknowledge the other's feelings. 0:20-0:26 MY FEELINGS 😭 Amity leaving Luz out in the cold like this and Luz' heartbroken face at 0:23 because she disappointed her girlfriend to be is so sad "I can see all the fears you face" really was predestined for Grom, wasn't it. Also the "I can see" in combination with the light glyph seems to have some deeper meaning in my eyes. Luz uses a spell only she as a human can use and she is the only one at this point who sees Amity's true self and how she really feels. I really like the thought that this connection was intentional; with Luz being the only one to use glyphs (at this point) and being the only one (at this point) to understand that Amity struggles. 0:30-0:33 "a storm that never goes away". Yeah, I guess that is a fitting description of Amitys feelings for Luz. I love that you indicated that with the paper. It is subtle yet absolutely clear what is meant. 0:33-0:36 I think that one is about how Luz is nervous whether Eda was right and she might not be strong enough to face her fears and Amity trying to calm her and being thankful for Luz' help However, when things got out of hand, Amity was right there :) 0:37 - 0:40 0:42-0:44 I guess Amity's world was crushing down on her at that moment :( also I love how "falls down" matches with the paper ACTUALLY falling down. You always pay so much attention to detail! It is like the "hands in my pocket" part from your amv "Paralyzed" :) 0:44-0:51 wow! You could easily have taken the scene where Luz suggests to switch places with Amity to take her place as Grom Queen but you made a way better choice imo: you took the scene where Amity and Luz fought/danced together, showing how none of them could have faced their fears alone but together they can, by taking their place at the other's side. You could also see it as Luz first taking Amity's place and then Amity taking Luz's place before they both work together as a team. Brilliant choice for this part! 0:51-1:03 I just enjoy their happiness and the beautiful dance and colours :D 1:04-1:08 ow, that hit hard. Luz being sad about the promise she made to her mum and Amity knowing something is going on... she really is an awesome gf and wants to help Luz... that scene feels like Amity suspects Luz to be missing her home and wanting to help her get back when in reality Luz worries about something else... good thing they talked it out later 1:11 & 1:15-1:16 awww they are so cute 😍 1:20-1:29 this scene is so special and precious. When someone we love passes on, they leave behind a hole that cannot be filled. But if the love around us grows, in proportion the hole appears to become smaller. Amity wants to be at Luz' side, through happiness and sadness. Luz did not want anyone to see her being sad and heartbroken but Amity allowed her to be true to herself and let her feelings show. It is good that they have each other 😢 1:35-1:36 Amity really had a breakdown here, poor girl. Luckily her siblings and her gf know how to cheer her up 1:30-1:42 😍😍😍 1:47-1:49 when they realized what happened, they IMMEDIATELY thought of rescuing Luz, didn't they? Therefore, the line fits really well 1:51-1:55 when Luz was in trouble and needed help, her friends appeared to lend her a hand :') 1:57-2:00 the lyrics in combination with Lumity protecting each other = gold 2:03-2:10 this scene is just PERFECT for this line 2:10-2:15 😭😭 PERFECTION. The emotions!! 2:33-2:34 Luz trying to hold on to King is so heartbreaking and the lyrics again fit absolutely perfectly! 😭 2:38-2:40 the lyrics say "I won't let go" yet Luz and the others are pushed through the portal; I think it still fits since Luz really did not want to let go of King but was forced to I am wondering that you did not use one of the rainy scenes from the human realm with "when the rain falls" but it is not a problem or something like that :) 2:42-2:47 the lyrics saying "I'll be right here" and then there is nothing more behind the shack's door than emptiness and darkness is heart-breaking. Luz was hoping the portal was still active and that she could go back when she opened the door, yet everything & everyone was gone... 😭 This is of course just my own opinion and how I perceived this amv :) I hope I did not misinterpret or over-analyze this wonderful amv. All I want to say is that it turned out to be one of my favourite amvs and that I am glad How To Train Your Dragon Prince liked the song and created this masterpiece. Also, Amity kept going back to Luz no matter what in that part where she was trying to save King - so technically, even tho the screen doesn’t show it, it still fits Amity ‘not letting go’ of Luz. 😉👍 I did not use a rain scene with ‘when the rain falls’ bc that would have pushed the whole scene up too far - not enough focus on the moments before the door - and the song still had a few bigger swells and epic feel left which didn’t fit the same feel of the scenes after the door closing, yk?
