Awesome job Rick. Great to see you're still doing the djing despite all the growth in the sound and lighting business. One thing I would say is that you were getting a better reaction out of those early 2010's hits the the recent rap hits. I've noticed that as well in my own teen dicoes with teenagers which is kind of surprising.

I feel a little bit underwhelmed by this one Rick. Surprised I'm saying it with such a long detailed setup. I just don't get how only having uplighting can be affective. I'm not particularly keen on the string lighting either. I'm confused why dj's offer these 'extra' novelty things. Fake plants, shrubs and trees. It's all a bit far removed from the dj'ing..yes it's a big room and there's a theme but couldn't the client just book a design or event planning company leaving you to focus on the dj'ing. Back to the dancefloor and I just feel it's pretty dark down there with most of the uplighting far away around the sides of the room. You definitely should have had a couple of moving heads. I just don't understand why some dj's only go for uplighting. Surely uplighting should be an affect that compliments and not replaces other lighting!? Of course they all had a good time with the music and no question they wouldn't as its a prom but I just feel underwhelmed. Only my opinion.
A lot of what you asked is pretty self explanatory. Sure, the school could have got a different vendor for all the string bulb lighting if Rick didn’t offer it. But he does, and pockets a nice profit and gives the client what they want. More than likely, he laid out the lighting options of uplights, movers, etc, and this is what they decided on.
@@matthewbohn765 @Matthew Bohn nah not self explanatory. Dj's offering too many add ons and extras nowadays. Was bad enough with photobooths. I'm confused why. How much profit with all those helping him out? Is it worth all the additional effort. You go into dj'ing for a reason and it isn't to decorate a room. He's DJ Rick Webb not Decorator Rick Webb. Also a dj should be advising that the dancefloor would be quite dark and making suggestions for a couple of moving heads or wash fx. Fine to offer a client options but also offer guidance.
