I didn’t knew him before this, and thus have started following him on X now. His English was flawless, with no dearth of vocabulary. In fact she created a ruckus and rules were bent just to allow her compete in 50 kg category as well on the very same day. So she was 53 kg, fought with 50 kg wrestlers, won those trials easily and secured the 50 kg spot. Anju was defeated by Antim Panghal in the finals of 53 kg trials. Also Antim is a World championship medalist, and has already won Asian Games and Championship for India. Don't demean that girl.

Nothing is going to Happen. As per Olympic rules one should play in the right weight category. Last time one wrestler from Japan got disqualified for merely 50 grams of overweight. So just chill and celebrate Neeraj Chopra and Indian Hockey Medal. Huge respect to Vinesh as well.❤❤
The term Disqualification is the issue. Disqualification can be used only if the athlete has done willfully a wrong. This is alike an act of nature and one can control one's weight to the extent possible.And here I reiterate that 100gms is beyond the control of the athlete. I can say with affirmation the least that can be considered that her weight was okay when she fought for the silver medal accordingly she should be bestowed atleast the silver medal and erase the term disqualifcation in her case

The rule is absurd..it would be reasonable if there was one bout a day.By this logic why not weigh before each bout. If you have 3 bouts a day where is the energy and time to lose weight? Half a century ago when India were kings of hockey,rule was changed to play on astro turf fully knowing we had no money for a astro turf. For many years we had only one at NIS Patiala I think..it is only now that we have caught up. As per you the rule came in only last year though some reports say 2013. Whenever,rules should have some logic..here you have no problem if Vinesh is overweight after weighing in on day 1 and wins 3 bouts..may as well have had the final also before midnight on day 1
For 114 Indian athletes there were about 140 support staff, with a role to play. And they never played their role because they were enjoying their time in Paris. No responsibility, no accountability, but corruption of their positions. According to me most of the higher up support staff are useless and in the first place should not be there, but are there because this is how India works in almost anything. No dedication, no honesty, no responsibility towards their jobs and no accountability and lastly no fear of what will happen to them if they do not do their job.
Will Harish Salve support Vinesh or make things difficult as you know Modi Govt is doing all possiblities to not allow Vinesh to get any medal.. She should get a lawyer who can fight for her with honesty and not cover up failures of contigent (support staff.. Doctor.. Nita Ambani..
