You could find other large open windows here. We seldom run this engine except filming and it has been sold due to no longer use.
    The engine in this video is Cummins NT855, using Cqstart spring starter PN3102.
    Kindly send an email to sales1@cqstart.com, if you need any assistance.

    Cqstart spring starter, is designed to replace the electric starter in emergency like hydraulic starter or air starter. It is maintenance-free, water-proof, explosion-proof, lighter, user-friendly and requires no external power system. "Manpower only, Mechanical starting, Diesel engine emergency starting solution".
    Our starters are widely used in military, marine, lifeboat, mining, fire pumps and agriculture, applied to the engines of Cummins, CAT, Perkins, Deutz, VOLVO, DOOSAN, etc.

      Springs don’t get weaker based on how much tension or compression they are under. They get weaker with the amount of cycles of tension or compression that they see. A spring compressed for a year and then released would see less damage then a spring compressed for 5 seconds then released 100 times

    • @TheFreshSpam
      @TheFreshSpam 3 года назад +74

      @@davidmacdonald4009 A spring compressed for a year will be weaker than a spring that wasnt wound up and left. They do get weaker if you compress them for prolonged periods. If it doesn't NEED to be under tension all the time, dont put it under tension. A car will not rise up the same if you fill it full of concrete and leave it for a year... it's like a rubber band, it weakens by being moved out of its orignal pre state by standard.
      Same for the spring. It's been tempered to want to retract to its sprung out state, compressing it puts it under stress, and therefore fatigue
      You see the same thing happen on the opposite for springs. Pull it apart and far from its orignal state and leave it and it will stretch and stay there

    • @ghettobikelife8833
      @ghettobikelife8833 3 года назад +26

      I don’t know much about springs specifically, but in terms of basic metals (steel) if you don’t strain it out of its normal elastic region (where it springs back to its original position) it shouldn’t get significantly weaker over time. When you overload your car springs and it rides lower afterward, that’s because it was forced into the nonelastic region on the stress/strain curve and it began to permanently bend. The comment above about the number of cycles is probably right, but for a relatively low number of cycles (few hundred max) it shouldn’t be much of an issue. Car valve springs compress up to 50 times a second, yet we don’t hear about weakened valve springs very often. I think the bigger issue would be the high temps

Basically not enough turns to suck in an air fuel mixture and take it to ignition reliably. I just took their word for it and never tried one, although they did make one that would bolt into my application. I wanted them for our Lincoln SA-200 arc welders. To get the pressure needed to run the motor a hand pump forced the fluid into a hydraulic piston cylinder with nitrogen gas on back side of piston.
