Cqstart spring starter, is designed to replace the electric starter in emergency like hydraulic starter or air starter. It is maintenance-free, water-proof, explosion-proof, lighter, user-friendly and requires no external power system. "Manpower only, Mechanical starting, Diesel engine emergency starting solution".
Our starters are widely used in military, marine, lifeboat, mining, fire pumps and agriculture, applied to the engines of Cummins, CAT, Perkins, Deutz, VOLVO, DOOSAN, etc. - Наука
Wish all vehicles had this as an emergency option to start the vehicles.
They did have in the old days ..a cranking handle. my dad and grandads cars had these..it was the handle that doubled as the sizor Jack handle.
I drove a clapped out s10, 5 spd, drove with no starter motor for a month, just parked on an incline, turn the key on, put it first, roll, release clutch and do it the next time.
@@kbrickell4732 heyyyy i knew what ur saying...but, its not that same.its only just kind of
yes I realise my mistake. the me 109 has a flywheel enerthia starter. but using the same starting handle
Get a manual car. Same thing will happen.

They should have made a auto reccoiler while the generator is running so that next time when you start the generator you just pressed the button.
I think the spring would get weaker way faster because it is under tension for a lot longer🤔
@@SeilVonSehl makes sense
Springs don’t get weaker based on how much tension or compression they are under. They get weaker with the amount of cycles of tension or compression that they see. A spring compressed for a year and then released would see less damage then a spring compressed for 5 seconds then released 100 times
@@davidmacdonald4009 A spring compressed for a year will be weaker than a spring that wasnt wound up and left. They do get weaker if you compress them for prolonged periods. If it doesn't NEED to be under tension all the time, dont put it under tension. A car will not rise up the same if you fill it full of concrete and leave it for a year... it's like a rubber band, it weakens by being moved out of its orignal pre state by standard.
Same for the spring. It's been tempered to want to retract to its sprung out state, compressing it puts it under stress, and therefore fatigue
You see the same thing happen on the opposite for springs. Pull it apart and far from its orignal state and leave it and it will stretch and stay there
I don’t know much about springs specifically, but in terms of basic metals (steel) if you don’t strain it out of its normal elastic region (where it springs back to its original position) it shouldn’t get significantly weaker over time. When you overload your car springs and it rides lower afterward, that’s because it was forced into the nonelastic region on the stress/strain curve and it began to permanently bend. The comment above about the number of cycles is probably right, but for a relatively low number of cycles (few hundred max) it shouldn’t be much of an issue. Car valve springs compress up to 50 times a second, yet we don’t hear about weakened valve springs very often. I think the bigger issue would be the high temps
When I was a little kid, I started all my cars by winding up a spring. Sadly, they didn't run very long before I had to wind them up again.
😂😂 good one
Haha good one
😊😊
Schuco cars! You must be 70+ to have played with them. 🤓🤓
Sounds like a EV
That is brilliant and I had read about the concept....but never seen it in operation. It makes it possible to have a diesel engine which does not have electrical components (and complications). Thank you
Yes. Many clients buy our products for ATEX purpose.

HOLY WHAT!
BEHOLD THE RECOIL STARTER OF DEATH....
being a mechanic who has worked on recoil spring starters...: I can only imagine how dangerous that is if someone took it apart
Now correct me if I’m wrong but wouldn’t you release the spring tension before disassembly? Do a compression release on the engine and let it spin down?
@@chucknoob7041 Spring starters are not as commen in the US for just how dangerous they can be.
Darwin at finest
Just don't be that dumbass
Only work on it when unloaded.
Still better than the hydraulic starter we had to pump up each start
Damn seems intense

ce n'est quand situation d'urgence ( une fois que la batterie , ou le démarreur ne fonctionnent pas ).
Those staters only work on engines that’ll start first bump over compression . If the engine needs more than one bump over compression , you’ll be there all day trying . I’ve had engines that didn’t start first hit on compression with these starters on , and have had an absolute ball ache with them . They are ok on new engines , but worn ones forget it
Estou interecado neste sistema de partida como conseguir detalhes do sistema
they are meant to be used when its the only option left
Хороший стартёр, вот бы на машину такой.
пора сруливать! А ты стартер крутишь! 🤔😂
I have that same motor in my peterbilt 359, it's a Cummins Big Cam 3 400, grate motor☺️👍
I was thinking 1710 gen set.but then again I never worked on a 400. Did alot 625T V8's though.
It’s an NTC 855 Big Cam is the nickname, and 400 is the power level, they ranged from 250 all the way up to 444...good motors though!!
Years ago I worked on the line that made the block for that engine. One of the best jobs I ever had.
NTC290 from the looks of it, thats actually a small cam 855
But do you have the same spring starter system? And if so do you use it at all and if not would you use it if you had it?
These Thai chaps do great jobs with their NTA-855 engines. Whenever in BKK I sit in the Shangri-La garden and just admire the sweet sound under full load and almost no exhaust smoke.
(Sold Cummins engines for 40’years when they made dependable engines like these.) RIP all dedicated Cummins guys who made this possible
If yer old enuf you may remember when Sears push lawn mowers came with a spring starter.
The rest of the mower was junk!!
Spring with clutch... good idea bruh...😀
It’s about a 150 year old idea, best believe them old timers knew their shit, 1 smart old fart is worth 10 young bucks or 100 blue state millennials

I have seen a few hydraulic starters , but this particular one is actually a recoil spring loaded starter . Different than a hydraulic starter but same concept. Can be stored for long durations without fear of dead batteries, etc.. when needed .
I have never seen like that. Thank for sharing.
Great idea no need for batteries! Someone was thinking and much safer than doing it the old fashioned crank the engine over way.......

Until you have to change it and you mess up taking it off and it takes off your head
Excellent option. This must be made as a common accessory for all vehicles like first aid box.
That CUMMINS 855 started up beautifully
Respect our engineers and one like for them😄😄😄
Very good spring start
Worked for Cummins (which is the engine shown) for 31 years and never saw such a starter.
Well that's the thing, this company manufactures these spring starters and this video is just a demo
We have these at work on our standbys, never actually seen them used though!
Next time we start one, i'm using the spring starter instead!
Well this is the 2nd mechanism to start the engine by means of hydraulic pules as an addition to battery start up or compressed air.
Lovely to share such a video with non mechanical/engineer viewer.
Mantap juga engkolnya nih ngak perlu pakai batrey nih
I've seen them, and they work quite well. But from reading most manufacturers literature they don't recommend them for spark ignited engines.
Why not? Do you know?
@@crazydrifter13 it's probably been 10 years ago, but I emailed one manufacturer and if I remember right he told me that the cranking is very fast but it is of short duration. Basically not enough turns to suck in an air fuel mixture and take it to ignition reliably. I just took their word for it and never tried one, although they did make one that would bolt into my application. I wanted them for our Lincoln SA-200 arc welders. Or Lincoln SA-200 will accept a crank into the end of the crankshaft but the way we have them mounted it's kind of clumsy to use, that was why I looked into the spring starters
@@crazydrifter13 it probably cost a lot more than an electric starter
¡¡Buenísimo!!.... La verdad...no conocía ése sistema de arranque

Super super
This is very good innovation to save battery and money also

i think this is way better than electronic starting
Wow! That's how my lawnmower starts

Wow excellent work thank you ☺️😊☺️
Semejante motor !!!! Nunca vi ponerlos en marcha con una manivela. Saludo al canal .
I've seen one demo at the LA fair, then started another engine with a shotgun shell, air starter, and last the fly wheel starter like what started the spitfire aircraft.
There's a bunch of deceased pilots and moonshine runners who would've loved that invention on their high compression engines they had to fire up by hand cranking!
And Farmers. Farmalls were started this way and if you didn't let go at the right time you'd eat the handle
Ай молодец желтый, у нас тоже все это было, пока путен вам это все не продал!
Rumor has it he’s still cranking it

Прикольный стартер! Класс!
Было бы интересно посмотреть как в -30Ċ его заводить будут без предпускового подогревателя
Так же как и электростартером, то есть никак если масло летний солидол
Useful invention💪👍
Well that works nice as long as you have a good battery because the fuel shut-off on that motor will not cut on without a good battery
I haven’t seen the spring starter but have seen hydraulic and pneumatic starters. The hydraulic starters were use to start pump engines to pump flammable materials. To get the pressure needed to run the motor a hand pump forced the fluid into a hydraulic piston cylinder with nitrogen gas on back side of piston. The air starters required a air tank full, the engine would have a compressor for another start
Started right up!
Awesome starter
Beautiful
hi. very very very very very very very very good. thanks
