You should revisit this review! As you've probably learned, the Mancera magic happens during the dry down, 30-60 minutes after you spray :). Black Vanilla snuck up on me unexpectedly and I was obsessed. Vanille Exclusive is a soft, beautiful, dreamy fragrance that doesn't have the longevity I'd expect BUT makes for a LOVELT skin fragrance.
Thanks! I always start by testing on paper to see if it's a fragrance I would like. I get migraines pretty easily from fragrances I don't like, so this is how I avoid that
You definitely should try em on your skin! They smell wayyy different than the smell on paper. Black Vanilla is pure vanilla from beginning to the end, but yes, it is very powdery(prob the violet). Idk why but Mancera have violet on almost all of their fragrances 😂😂
Actually, Manceras are great on the drydowns. If you don't mind wearing them on your skin, they're actually very, very nice. That is if you want to give it another try and surprise yourself
Thanks for the comment! I have heard the same thing from other people, but I find that if I don't like an opening, I'm not patient enough to wait for the dry down. I wish I was, but maybe I'll get there someday!
@@VictoriaMontefusco sometimes you can be surprised though. It's happened to me so many times now that I will usually give a fragrance at least 3× trying on skin before fulling passing on them. Of course unless they repulse me or something lol... but I have had so many perfumes I just thought were "OK" at first or on paper, but then really grew to understand and love them. Even become obsessed with some. And it blows my mind to think I could have passed on them so quickly.
I was looking for a masculine but not too masculine Aoud perfume for myself and tried Gold Intensive Aoud: I love it! At first it seemed very strong because I’m not used to this kind of artificial perfumes, but now I love it! It makes me feel so sophisticated, distant, intriguing and dangerous 😂
My absolute favorite vanillas in existence are Guerlain Spirituese Double Vanille and Guerlain Angelique Noir! They are THE BEST! if i had to choose only 2 perfumes for life it would be those 2! I layer them together ❤
Fantastic choice! My perfumes for life are Guerlain SDV and Tonka Imperiale. I was just lucky to get them in previous design before bottle/price change
I love Cedrat Boise it's my only Mancera frag. But looking at Black Vanilla as it's on sale, I just adore vanilla with all my heart, but a bit scared to blind buy as I hear the opening is very feminine, but the dry down is unisex, the vanilla is supposed to come out in the dry down. Another video I saw the guy said he doesn't leave his house till after 30 minutes till the opening fades, then beautiful vanilla comes through
If you're judging a fragrance off of paper you're not gonna get the real essence of a fragrance. But,no...testing a fragrance on paper is the wrong method. Because if you really know fragrances, you'd know that a fragrance on skin is gonna smell differently on skin. Hate to see fragrances wasted or passed on because the person trying them out is basing their opinion because they sprayed the fragrance on paper.
I completely agree. I have been sampling like crazy myself. And most fragrances will read differently once on skin. Not all - but the majority. I have been surprised by how different it can be. So I really hate seeing reviewers only judging by a 30 second sniff test on paper. It's not telling the whole story or giving the perfume a chance at all... and then there are some fragrances that I just liked or thought was "Ok" but aftering testing 2 or 3 times - I fell in love and got to know the fragrance. It's like the more you smell something and introduce new scent profiles to your brain - the more you understand them - and the more you fall in love with them. Of course - not all perfumes! But if ai had just went by a simple sniff test on paper, I would have never known or allowed my "nose to grow". I guess everyone is at different place in their fragrance journey though. A couple years ago this would have been a completely foreign concept to me.
I like vanilla woods by the seven virtues. To me it’s not vanilla extract or cakey vanilla but very rich vanilla and not too woodsy. Top note pear Heart note rose Base note vanilla and caramel In my opinion, the pear and rose are not noticeable.
So u love SDV by Guerlain. Maybe, MAYBE u might like Jimmy Choo Vanilla Love. Bit hard to find it as it was made for Arab market. However for me these 2 have some similarities
Hi, I just like to comment on Aoud Vanille. I sampled it a year ago and bought a full bottle this year (batch code dates it to 1/2022). Here comes a strong word of warning: Aoud Vanille has been reformulated. As usually is the case, the change is for worse. Vanilla note is not rich delicious vanilla any longer, but rather some sort of cheap substitute. It smells vanillin. If you love real vanilla and if you tried the earlier formula, you can definitely tell the difference and will be disappointed.
Be aware! Your bottle might be fake. My personal example: fake Montale Intense Cafe has super strong synthetic coffee start. Original one has nothing like that. Same thing might be in your case IMHO
Mancera wait a minute. Or 30. Red saves me money believe it or not. But that’s definitely masculine. But nobody can tell the difference when I wear that or Carlyle. Or mystery. And I get more compliments. It leaves a massive trail that causes other people to compliment each others as I pass. I’ve seen it.l think it’s funny .But It’s a much cheaper bottle than the rest.. Nobody likes the opening on that one either . I try to put it on 30 minutes before I get around people so I won’t get red flagged. 😂
Black vanilla is THE best vanilla perfume out there, give it some time
AoudVanille is a great fragrance you have to let it sit on the skin and the magic will happen

Where is variant from this vanilla fir for a man?
Nice vid, although You have to smell them on skin! You can’t fairly judge them off paper. Most fragrances smell completely different on skin
Thanks! I always start by testing on paper to see if it's a fragrance I would like. I get migraines pretty easily from fragrances I don't like, so this is how I avoid that
@@VictoriaMontefusco fair enough, nice vid, just know you’re missing out (no matter what the frag) solely testing on paper.

That explains why I'm not a fan of Mancera - I do not like violet at all!
Maybe you would like velvet vanilla
If you like vanilla you should try :
Sucre noir
Indult
Fire at will
Cuir béluga
Babycat
Rosendo Mateus 5

@@VictoriaMontefusco Oh that's sad. Hope you'll get there soon.

Smelling the opening on papaer isnt even really sm3lling the opening. They smell dofferent on skin fr@@VictoriaMontefusco
You can't test them on paper. Mancera has to be put on skin to know what it really smells like

Spirituese Double Vanille is phenomenal! Sadly, Angelique Noir wasn't for me. I found it to be too green for my taste
Fantastic choice! My perfumes for life are Guerlain SDV and Tonka Imperiale. I was just lucky to get them in previous design before bottle/price change
I believe you should spray on your skin vs hard paper
You need to try Indult - Tihota, Atelier - Vanilla Insensee, and Dua - A Vanilla Affair
Thanks for the suggestions! I've tried Vanille Insensee, and it sadly wasn't for me. But I don't think I've tried the other suggestions
You probably won't like Cedrat Boise, the dry down to me is sweet woodyness. The opening is like tangy lemon/bergamot
A little late to the party , if you don’t mind designer fragrances, Mercedes-Benz Club Black is a vanilla bomb and is by far my favorite vanilla 👍🏻

Thank u for honest review! Slightly negative feedbacks are the best actually. Much more informative))) +1 subscriber

Check out tarteel silver from Arabian oud great natural vanilla

thank you so so much for this video! I've been wanting to narrow down what is the best vanilla to get!!!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😊
I have one of these and it smells nothing to me like this but I think you literally just interpreted the mist, like not even the full opening 😂

Do you know that you have ti try perfumes on skin and not on paper, don't you?
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Maybe, it will be better to buy vanilin ( sugar fo baking). And smell it?😂 Try Kayali Vanilla, maybe it will responds you
I tried Kayali Vanilla - it was a scrubber for me! Too cloying. I have such a picky nose
Ur beautiful 😊🌹
❤️
It's my first bad comment ever on you tube but try to be more profesional when reviewing. That's not the way of trying perfumes
Aoud vanille is disgusting 🤢 I hated it. Had to scrub it off. Waaay too strong
