Mack Granite / Heil Split Rear Loader on Recycling

With a sudden large amount of time on my hands, I am finally able to get out and edit and film videos. so here's the beastly split Heil from Unity again after almost 2 years of service. Still looks almost brand new with its paint and chrome shining and very little wear overall. The button controls are cool too, Unity's new splits are the first trucks I've seen to only have buttons for packer controls instead of levers.

Awesome work! I sat back and watched the whole thing, super fun to watch! This is one badass truck, you don’t see this color on a truck too often, interesting how the only the sides of the tailgate are painted that color, and the hopper(s) are white. Always awesome watching all the splits down around you!

I wonder why they didn't go with levers, the truck you filmed me on is the only one we have with button controls. i like them they come in handy

Beautiful truck in a beautiful neighborhood, and a skilled efficient crew to match. Recology SF has some new Heil 60/40s with button controls like this. You’ve never seen them on RUclips because they’re impossible to follow lol. glad you found one. How common is split stream recycle the DC/Maryland/Virginia sort of area?

Thanks for the comment! I can imagine, SF Recology routes seem like a nightmare to find and follow. As far as I know, Montgomery county is the only place in the DMV that still does dual stream recycle. Even the municipalities within the county have switched over to single stream.

Mid Atlantic Refuse I like the old format better, I don’t like the new format. The problem is the bins don’t hold enough bottles and cans that’s why everybody used to put plastic bags In the bin, now with this new format is people including myself can’t use plastic bags anymore. If the County knew their we’re going to put a new format, they should’ve changed the bins to carts. That would’ve been better, a cart for bottles and cans and one for the paper and cardboard.
