I found out recently that Albert is primarily the rhythm guitarist so his parts are usually less technical or intricate when compared to Nick.. Maybe that has something to do with the reason 🤔

Personally, it's because of the thing you just mentioned. It's too similar to what they have already done, and they haven't really added anything to it. It's the same reason why I'm not enjoying the new RHCP tracks.
Sure the old Strokes/RHCP songs will be classics and I will always love them, but that's because it was fresh at the time. They all are burnt into my head and have great memories attached to them. Now that there's so much new interesting music from fresh artists, these new albums from older bands just aren't really doing it for me.
Also, it just doesn't have the same catchiness to it as many of the older Strokes tracks. They are in no way bad songs, they just aren't that exciting to me. That's just my personal opinion though.
+Caleb Finegan does that mean you still like "Drag Queen" and "Oblivious"? because this track in particular doesn't excite me either. And btw, have you taken a look at The Audiots?
OBLIVIUS is probably my favourite track of the EP, but it's still not as good as old Strokes imo. Maybe the EP will grow on me, only time will tell.
I just checked out The Audiots and "Wait and See" is actually really good. Already to me a better song than any on the new EP. Thanks for the recommendation!
