Lage Lund Trio (USA)
Jahrhundert mitbestimmen.
Er unterrichtet an der New School in New York.

Lage Lund, imo his sound is a middle ground between the Allan Holdsworth, Eric Johnson and Pat Metheny schools of thought…absolute beast of a musician
I imagine every show starting out like ..... ." You guys ready to get weird ? " -Lang Lund
this is the best goddamn comment i've seen
I'm so impressed with this drummer! And by the comments of others, it appears others are similarly so. Justin Faulkner. Lage Lund is brilliant as always. Matt appears to be providing the stable foundation for all the surrounding fireworks! What a show! Typically Lage is facing outer space from where he is receiving his instructions, so it's clear that Justin's drumming is just as impressive to him. To see Lage smiling and to this degree during a show is not usual.
Always thought Lage sought approval from someone on the moon...
@@framtidsjorden1 This old hippie guitarist from a band called Lightning, he calls it "guitar from Mars."
We may well be living in a golden age for jazz-the talent that is around at the moment is astonishing. Lage, Matt and Justin are in that top bracket that is moving the music on into new territory. Cool as Mr Lund would say.
One of the better jazz guitarists of the last 10 years
I saw him on berklee when he was 19... nuts.
The essence of true jazz IMO .....a Kind Of Blue reminiscence....
Probably my favorite concert, like, OF ALL TIME!!!
of course at musig im pflegidach ;-)
At last, modern jazz that is soulful, rhythmic, melodic AND swings! Modern improv does not have to sound like some kind of march...Thank you for this post. Great Trio. I agree with the Wayne Krantz influence.
that drum solo by justin around 6:00 is goddamn awesome , start sensitively and built up so fking nice.
He grew up alot from last i saw him when he played for Branford in 2009
But goddamn his musicality has aged so fking well
Lage Lund is one of the best guitarists which I heard... He is so modern, and in the same time in his way of playing he is keeping the traditional sound and thinking!
I try to have practice from his lessons, but he is so much difficult to understand. It will come with time!
Is it just me? What you hear is essentially an electric guitar despite the fine selected woods, all the carving, boutique pickups, etc. etc. The amp. and stompboxes are doing the rest... Very nice and energetic playing though!
Me think Lage Lund is the Imannual Kant of guitar. Highly cerebral, of another world. Love it. A very special species. There just one like him, as Immanual was in his century
That intro is special.
The drummer is giving me LIFE !!!
Jazz is alive and well. So much new talent!
I feel like in Lage's early playing/compositional career he tended toward the odd and stilted melodies that he is able to make so beautiful on account of his voicings and dynamics. And more recently he fuses his stilted melodies with a grungy riff and excellent rhythmic interplay (see this song and his live version of "Worms") - which is a credit to him. He's really expanding his voice now. Gives me confidence in real books to come.
For sure! Wish he composed more harmonic and rhythmically oriented music like this! I'm sure he will in the future one of the best modern day jazz guitarists for sure!
That's my type of a drum solo
What a great drumer!!!
My favorite version of Aquanaut
Is Jason lindner playing double bass...
Ok I'm Joking...
Great live thanks for the emotion!
I need more bass and less drums, for me a serious problem if you play trio
Splendid music, I will be buying more music from all these artists. Justin Faulkner is superb on the drums-so many sounds and textures and such percussive expression.
Lage's intro....magic...
" Very Special Sounds and Great Musician Player ". .. So' Good ... ☺😊😀/💙💙💙/👍✌👌👏👋
Justin Faulkner! So amazing!
Amazing music
Very hip sound. Reminds me of Kurt Rosenwinkel.
Beautiful! Reminds me a little of Ben Monder, another great guitarist.
This is pure magic. I love you Lage.
I don't remember seeing any of those chord voicings in my Mel Bay book!
Why didn't they teach us this stuff?
Great tone and real modern feeling music! I love it!
Best jazz there is today!
Yeahh! Amazing!
2night these uys are playing in Köln (D) wauow! I'm goin' :-)
Absolutely Gorgeous!!
great! flows like e.s.t. back in the good ol' days!
I’ve also wondered whether e.s.t. was an influence on Lage. The Esbjorn Svensdon Trio recordings show great interplay within the trio, and you can hear Berglund’s bass when the piano or drums are in the foreground. In this particular recording of Lage, the bassist is hard to hear. In a small venue, the drummer needs to hold back.
Thank you!FOR sharing this.
Incredible . Amazing sound and great song
Justin Faulkner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want more!
amazing muso's....
FANtastic! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🎶🎼
Lovely!
that is some drummer yes ma'am
Does anybody know how Lage is getting that volume waver effect? It doesn't seem like he's using a volume pedal and it also seems too controlled to be coming from a tremolo pedal.
when Lund puts the guitar down it's like he's been shot through his abdomen and there is even an exit wound. Faulkner threw a difficult tune in the blender
Currently writing a chart out if anyone's interested!
Actually, I'm really interesed. Do you already have it?
for sure
Let me know, if you finish it :)
yes please very interested
sorry guys, forgot that i posted this. i'll post a link up on scribd shortly.

💿💿💿💿
JUSTIN FREAKIN FAULKNER!!!! GOD LAWD!!!!!!
It's a Schottmüller and it's a "SemiAkustik"
What kind of guitar (brand?) Sounds GREAT!!
It's made by a luthier called Stefan Schottmueller! :)
Thanks! :-)
It got a Jason Lollar Charlie Christian-pick up as well.
Ok,is it your guitar where Lage is playing on?Lollar's are great!!
Hi, well Lage used to have Lollar CC in there, but now I believe it's a off the rack Gibson Classic ´57 PU in it. The CC made to much hum in recording situations. Sounded great though!
Alien!
Hi Stephan. I'm Hitch Kim, jazz promoter in Korea. I organize Lage Lund's tour in July and wonder I can use your videos for the promotion. Of course I will put your name and your company if you want. Hoping to hear your feedback soon. Bye
PlusHitch ofcourse you can! best stephan
Justin!!!! Haha!
guaaaaaaaaa
aquanaut, anyone got the meaning? if you believe in nasa you won't understand
His Freeze pedal needs a silent switch so we don't hear that clicking.
Have to agree. It is distracting and entirely avoidable.
An excellent trio, although the drummer is a little too busy and tends to overpower the nuances of the guitar phrasing. That said,a thoroughly competent and exciting group.
I felt like I was watching some drum clinic video, not a real performance.
Another wants to be Kurt so bad 🙈😂
u dumb they don't play the same at all
They're your ears mate, if you think that, you have the shittest ears, jebus
