You are exactly right, but if you bend the plates away from each other, just a little bit, there's no rattle. They "forgot" the bolts.... and I didn't initially notice the bolts were gone until after I got home, but I also noticed the plates were just barely bent away from each other. Now I when I get my truck back from the dealer, I always check the other 4 bolts for this plate and my lugs (different dealer forgot to tighten the lugs once and I almost lost a wheel as I pulled out of the dealership).
You don’t need to remove it on the 3.5 echo boost. You are missing the access door for the oil change.

Get a Ronin drain plug and a piece of clear plastic tube.

Replace your drain plug with an ISSYAUTO or UPR drain plug.
By bolt delete-does that mean they forgot to replace them 2 bolts? and with the delete- does it rattle much?
